I just sent PS my electric reading today and i bought 1 BFF pack.

I was looking around the site and checked my rates and i noticed that my account/tariff ends this October so i did a dummy comparison and below are my "new prices".

    18.575 baseline 17.283 14.679 if i buy all Powerpacks.

Daily charge 23.772 and 18.775 if i buy all Powerpacks.

Top Shopper for the year £538
    First year promise £638
    Baseline £681

I think it's time to look some where else.

No they're not exactly pushing the boat out but l'll take anything that reduces my bill even 30p( which is the net effect on my bill this month). You might like to read Martins blog on the Price Cap suggesting a 7-8% reduction from October. This would impact on Baseline causing a similar reduction as its set at the Price Cap rates. Hopefully this coupled with winter future pack discounts might persuade you to return.

In my case they've offered me one BFF Special Pack with a pathetic discount of 14%, (energy amount = 3 days). Note, only have Electricity with Powershop and now into my second year with them.

I looked at PS today and there are 2 future packs for January at 22% discount for £14.06 costing £10.96 and at £1.08 they say it should cover 10 days of power.

I make that 13.4472 p/kwh plus daily charge.

Everyone looks to get offered the same brand of power packs (from the posts in the thread) but with vastly different discounts being offered (presumably the value difference of the same packs are to do with your consumption is it??)

How can you work out the true rates you will ultimately pay?

The only way of working out your true rates is to look at your monthly bill. I always used to deduct one month's standing charge at cost price ie not discounted. It's irrelevant whatever standing charge is discounted or not really so I took it off at undiscounted price. I then divided the remaining sum by my kWh usage. To me that's what you pay per unit.
