There won't be a replacement and I'm more confused than ever. I need to sit down with pen and paper and try to work things out. Today I am meeting a different client to get some work delivered. Then I have another to see tomorrow and a third with whom I'm doing a conference call with DH who is helping me out on a well paying job. One that will pay close to an hour what the charity pays a day. Accordingly I will be around the house intermittently providing ice cubes to my 4 legged alarm clock. She really loves these.

That is certainly an odd situation! They want you and they must need you but they aren't trying to replace you... on the other hand the other clients sound positive. :)

    I like lime marmalade too.

  • Ok, I have decided that I am going to put the ball back in the client's court. An email is going to go today setting out exactly what I need from them. It's taken 2 nights of disturbed sleep but I have a kind of clarity. They are in a bad bad place and actually need the help that I can give them. I will do that shortly before heading for a 9.15 dental check up. I will also endeavour to resolve a health related matter today. I can get certainty which would save this niggling away at me. Life's too short to let yourself be burdened due to your own inactivity. Having said that, an unwanted outcome could see me reach for the metaphorical razor blades!

Today I have a 2 o'clock meeting and dh is on a half day from his main job while we get some of my client work underway with a conference call to Dublin.

On other news, I did up an invoice yesterday that I will issue today and I brought my expenses and overheads completely up to date. I also transferred my recent PA payout and with tt, I made a £28 op to the mortgage which, thanks to my monthly payment, is now less than £75k. I'm so so happy about that. When the old job turned bad, my initial aim was to get the mortgage to within DH's borrowing level before I gave up on the job. Every milestone just affirms that I did the right thing by staying as long as I did and by estimating when I could afford to get out. The difficult bit will be to not make ops that I can't afford going forward. DH has £22 en route from PA and offered to transfer that amount so I could OP that too. I had to point out that we had agreed his focus would be the EF. This month I should also have enough in the account to come up with the cash based birthday present for DS whose motorbike insurance renewal is causing him problems.

    Today I am grateful for
A decision that will but resolution of a problem in someone else's hands
    My decreasing mortgage balance
My personal finances starting to balance again

Your 3 things to be grateful for inspired a gratitude posting on my diary today, so whilst I am in a grateful frame of mind.... I am grateful for your diary as I learn things, leave inspired and catch up on what my dog is doing. Thank you :)

  • So, went to dental appointment, paid £16 for a clean and check up. This is less than £3 a month so well worth it. Also, I trust this dentist. Didn't get the email issued until lunchtime as I needed to word it properly. So, no reply as yet.

A dentist you trust is worth his/her weight in gold and I pay £54 for my teeth to be cleaned. Dentist never cleans on a check up and refers me to the hygienist. Even when I was on my face financially I refused to skimpy my teeth.

  • My post was interrupted by a call from DS. I'm sure if you google images for first world problems, a picture of him would appear. He is having problems with his motorbike insurance problems as they are refusing to recognise his previous no claims discounts. Of course he now has less than a week to get this sorted as he was in France for a wedding at the weekend. And he is busy at work, has a course assignment to submit, etc., etc. the big plus is his ability to laugh at himself.
Anyhow, yesterday I went to a few shops as there was one item I needed. I bought other items inc resolva weed killer that was in Asda at 74p for a litre in their discontinued section so 3 were bought. Various other items were also acquired inc a whoopsied choc fesh cream Cadbury cake.
We did the call, it went ok. We know have an idea of what's needed and think its doable. It'll seriously help with cash flow. We had to buy a phone from Argos yesterday as none of our existing ones bar mobiles had a speaker option. The business account was used as it was needed for business. It's a nice red phone. DH also got a few sb as there were no cash back offers on. I'm now 85% of the way towards another sb voucher. Fingers crossed that i will get there by the weekend. Hopefully there'll be a bit of a bonus from last month's activity though I'm not sure how that'll work.

On other news, I got a definitive answer yesterday on a possible health condition and it's all good. Whatever's going on with me at present, it's not that scenario. Just need to figure out what it might be. I'm convinced that if men went through menopause, the retirement age would be a lot lower.

One of my sisters has irritated me. DD earmarked a number of items to be disposed of some of which I thought May appeal to her. I told her this 2 weeks ago and she was to call up. I'm still waiting but not for much longer. I want this stuff gone. She's not so busy that she couldn't make the effort.

Today I have work to get through but am disinclined to get started. I first want to give me kitchen a good scrub. I think it's too easy for things to go bad in this heat. First though, I will have to dislodge the dog's head from the top of my foot.
    Today I am grateful for
The resolution of a health concern
    Being able to help DS
Getting a piece of work to the next stage.
