  • I can't even commit to writing down the extent to which an issue is being mismanaged. The low paid job may soon be no more. Am not sure I can continue to be associated with it

Oh no, that sounds as if it's going very pear shaped. Don't put yourself in a situation that could rebound on you.

    Hope you are okay?

  • Thanks peeps. In a way, it's good that it's so bad as I may otherwise have let things limp on for longer. Yes I will lose regular income but better to get out with my credibility intact.
Yesterday was a dublin day for which no money was earned but a bit of business development. Unfortunately it bacame a longer than expected day due to a traffic accident on the motorway. Still, made it home safe which is the main thing.
Got word while there that the 400 mile journey last week has brought in an assignment so it was worthwhile and will get the new trading year underway. Got home to a stroppy dd, no idea why. You'd think that at 31 she'd have outgrown teenage sulks!
Today I'm back into the problem client. I'm hoping that nothing else has developed since I was last there. Today I am grateful for
    New work
    Catching up with former clients

  • New work is good news and you know how I feel about the dog...

  • Today I will be back at the nightmare client but only for a few hours as I will be taking dd to a hospital appt this afternoon. And here is the rant for today. She was experiencing issues that did not previously exist so went to the gp who gave a prescription. This made things worse so she went back. Meds changed but also referred for urgent hospital investigations as possible cancer risk. She got a letter from hospital advising that they would be in touch 6 weeks before appointment. We have a kind of supplementary healthcare that costs just under £30 per month for the 4 of us. I nagged her to call and check the likely wait as the 6 weeks had scared me a bit. It was 18 months and this was for an investigation to rule out ovarian cancer. Thankfully the healthcare provider agreed to cover consultation and investigation so we go three days after making the first call to them.
I know that waiting times are worse in NI's health service than in GB but how bad do things have to get before things get fixed.
    Today I am grateful for
Prioritising payments to a health scheme that responds quickly
    Flexibility in work arrangements
My family- it's too easy to take them for granted

18 months is far too long! I hope all goes well with the appointment and your daughter's issues can be sorted quickly. That £30 a month was indeed a good investment.

Also hope the nightmare client behaves themselves.
