My big financial challenge to mortgage freedom
Comments
-
Well, I've managed to completely blow the grocery budget...and I was doing so well
must try harder next month.
I've had an expensive plumbing job come upwill be getting it sorted early this coming week. This somewhat scuppers my planned mortgage overpayment.
I have made a few sales this week.so I need to tally up what've I've made after fees.

I need to grow my business. So I have a plan...

Don't put off till August, when you can start now . . . .
You are an excellent cook/baker, and have many, many recipes to hand. No excuse, start now
How about eating out of your freezer? for 1 maybe 2 days a week, that would save 1 week's food shopping, at least.
As for your business, act on those plans, no time like the present.
I would say meal planning and being organised really helps.

You can do it ! ! !
Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

Thanks AFK. Good points, well made.
I have spent a further £19 this month, however, I now should only need to buy bread and milk for the next week or so.
Got a rare afternoon off today so I have made an impossible pie and some banana bread, I have substituted some of the flour in the banana bread for bread crumbs - hoping it turns out ok as the bread needed using up...and I still have some bread crumbs left so I am now trying to think of recipes I can use them in. The bread pudding I made the other week was nice but I fancy trying something different.

Breadcrumbs - other than for coating chicken/ fish etc and baking in oven
* frying off in oil with garlic/ chilli and tossing through pasta - total carb fest but I find DS1 likes it (and at 17 is a hollow-legged teenager, so copes with the carbs and calories!)
* apple (or pear or whatever) charlotte - sort of like crumble but with a topping from breadcrumbs, sugar (and a wee bit of butter) instead of flour
* stuffed mushrooms (with finely chopped bacon/ leftover roast chicken, lots of herbs and garlic)
* homemade stuffing - with onion, sage (I have a jar of dried), pepper and maybe a skinned sausage mashed into it
* a topping before pasta bake when it goes into the oven
* a topping for cauliflower/ broccoli cheese
* bulk out homemade burgers with the addition of a handful of breadcrumbs
That's all I do - am sure others can be more inspiring!

Good luck with the August targets"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
