Do not bother with anyone else in this. Your buyer needs to file an INR. They will get their money back. You should not be entering a third party agreement with an unknown as you won't be able to defend an INR yourself.
 Update.
The chap who was paid by mistake has now refunded the payment (allowing for currency fluctuations) to the buyer who has paid me directly.
A very satisfactory result in the circumstances .
Not to mention two very honest people.
I will add that I've had 2 issues selling on Ebay recently, both times I didn't agree with the advice offered on MSE and both times I had a successful outcome.
That's not to say I advocate not listening to the advise of others but sometimes you have to make your own judgements.0

That's a good outcome, but I think you need to send some money to your buyer who has lost out in the currency conversions.Update.

All well and good but I'm not sure which advice wasn't correct, as you imply.
The recipient of the funds refunded, he would have had to if the buyer claimed INR. Same thing different route, but the route you were given on here was a guarantee. The recipient refunding was never that.0
