My understanding is that what we've done is a bit like handing in your notice to resign from your job I.e. We have no right to withdraw if (although it could be in the employers interest to let us).

    Can we clear this up?

Do we have a right to withdraw our resignation or not?

The TReaty on the functioning of the EU is silent on the matter. It does not say we can withdraw it and it does not say we cannot.

In practical terms it would be for the EU27 to agree or not.

If you vote Labour you will get Brexit and Labour running the economy. That would be the very WORST option, wouldn't it?

The question was would you vote labour IF they cancelled brexit, so why would you get both?

Labour (in current mode) have no appetite to cancel Brexit.

    Because of that word "IF".

Fair enough, one can pose the hypothetical question; 'Would you vote Labour into power if they vow to cancel Brexit?'To which the answer would be either be 'Yes' or 'No'.

But the OP states that "I would be very surprised if labour didn't use this as a weapon". Therefore I feel obliged to point out that this is not an option. Labour is not going to cancel Brexit.

The only way I can see Brexit being cancelled is if the Lib Dems win the election and there's EUref2 which remain win.

I'd bet you could get pretty good odds if you wanted to take a punt on that outcome.

I was a labour member for years but can't vote for them this time. I'm furious with the corbyn cultists who've delivered power to the conservatives for a generation whilst having the nerve to call me and my ilk red tories.

As for brexit, I voted remain but I lost. End of. Let's get on with it and try to make it work.

Why kind of question is THAT?

For the record, I don't want BREXIT cancelled OR Labour in power with Corbyn running the country. He is an awful leader and will bring the country to its knees. Even his own MPs can't stand him, and the party is crashing and burning. Can you lefties not see that?

Are we not allowed to indulge in hypothetical answers and hypothetical thought.
I thought the entire point of these boards was to exercise our thinking beyond the immediate reality and imagine how things might be different.

For me 4 bank holidays would do it

(Only joking, labour have a snowballs chance in my constituency)

Thanks for pointing it out, but I agree there's value in thinking hypothetically and even thinking the unthinkable.

I would not vote for having the unions run the country whatever Corbyn offered.

And that is what would happen, the unions would dictate every bit of policy, we would be down to a 4 day week at the same rate of pay (annual not hourly) in no time flat, that way he would get rid of the enemies of the state, otherwise known as entrepreneurs and small businesses, and aspiration would be outlawed.

At a guess it would take about 6 months for him to bankrupt the country.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
