Good morning (even though it's too early to be up really) :)
So I didn't realise - you say Labour have attempted a deal multiple times?

I accept it is the case, and have never said otherwise.
What legal point do you believe may be broken by the supposed "'confidence and supply' deal"?

I assume you mean maybe illegal given the deals details are not yet final?

I'm going to use a Twitter post from someone claiming to be a lawyer on this, as it can be explained much better than me, especially when I've only been awake for 15 minutes. I said privately on Friday that something similar to this may come about, however wanted to keep my mouth shut as I'd already shown myself as an idiot on the day by not thinking before I posted.

I accept that for anyone aiming at an EEA-ish agreement, the DUP partnership (from my limited understanding) may prove to be a better option than going back to the polls. At the other end of the scale though, that Labour will likely have to partner with the SNP would be a bit more definitive in ensuring this, so I'm mixed about exactly what I'd like to see happen at the moment.

I would like to see the Irish government pass this theory to the ECJ for a formal opinion, as if anything this government does turns out to be illegal in its current form the country could be well and truly stuck. As stated already though, I expect there to be another election before the end of the year anyway.

Just to be clear, I am currently willing to accept an EEA agreement outside the customs union, and if/when that is confirmed I will waive my right to oppose Brexit. I also reserve the right, from the date of exit, to campaign for the UK to join the European Union if such an agreement has not been concluded. This is as close as some Leave voters are going to get to what they want from me, as there is enough evidence to suggest this is what the 'average' person wants. I'm giving you your will, but lets be sensible about this and act in everyones interests.

What has she stood for in Scotland apart from IndyRef2 (which she said she would not oppose last year)?

Like I said, she did well on a focussed protest vote principle, but not a lot else has come from her.

Her position on the rape clause was derided by all parties.

She has been a puppet and the message worked in this election, but how will she stand up when she is accountable.

As for alternatives, if you think RD is the best option, you better hope there are some great young politicians to come through.

No I don't hope that (although it wouldn't hurt), I highly rate RD, and I don't care if you don't. Just like you are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine. My opinion of her is mainly based upon her 'performances' (for want of a better word) in the Scottish parliament, there are plenty of videos of her on Youtube in action.

But she seems to be quite settled in Scotland, so she might see her future being there, rather than in Westminster. It depends just how ambitious she is.

It's basic common sense that if a Govmt holds on to power due to an agreement with another party.....how can that same Govmt possibly act as an honest broker between that same party and another....especially given the history of Ireland!

Just listened to Barry Gardiner on R4 Labour's negotiating position is far clearer than May's. She took membership of the single market off the table before negotiations have even taken place! He's saying let's not get hung up on that, it's the nature of the benefits that matters. Before that Chukka said there is power to control freedom of movement from within the single market!

An interesting post I saw on another site:-
I was interested in Rachel Johnson’s article praising her daughter for voting Labour. She recounted a number of Con. MPs saying none of their children voted Conservative.
I have withdrawn from Facebook-my feed is plastered with vitriol from the young-including members of my own family. Gove at Environment has them winding up the hate & insults again.
Cons have a problem-Ashcroft shows Lab have a majority in the under 44s. This generation hates Tories-literally. They are clenching their teeth as the wait for the next GE.
The generations are at war politically in UK-and Corbyn has “armed” , motivated & mobilised the under 40s. It is an astounding achievement.
    Can Cons respond?
    Do Cons understand the problem?

Thanks, pretty much sums it up. What have the Tories done to help young people? Of course they've done plenty to help the Boomer generation - I'm one of them! The boot seems to be moving to the other foot, and it's about time my Generation gave something back to the Young.

No Pandora's box has well and truly been opened, and the Conservatives won't be able to shut it!

It'll be interesting to see how a Left wing Government will operate in the 21st Century, if it happens.

    We live in interesting times.

I don't see Corbyn offer much to the younger voter other than Promising then things he will not be able to deliver or if he does will leave the country with even more debt they they will have to pay and he was offering to give more to boomers, keep triple lock, winter fuel payments no dementia tax.

I do not object to all of his policies and tax rises, If Labour had offered moderate extra spending instead of the give away they were proposing I would have voted for them.

I think that I'm bound to live through at least one Labour Government, probably more, especially if they are not too extreme.

I think that it is absolutely crazy to offer free tuition fees with the present system of very high numbers of students going to university. But I also think that it would be much better to go back to the old system of far less students at university with free tuition, but that is much easier said than done, I'm not sure how that could be achieved.
