Stop offering degrees in Barbeque Management and Safety (no, I don't think that one exists just yet!) and nstead give proper recognition to practical trades and technical skills. A practical engineer isn't just an academically failed manager!0 -
For the avoidance of doubt David Davis has confirmed we will still be leaving the single market.

At this stage it is not necessarily down to just what David Davis wants when it comes to what the final deal will come to.
An EEA type deal certainly looks a lot more likely than it did before 10pm last Thursday.0 -

For the avoidance of doubt, Mr Davis said the government’s strategy to leave the internal market and the customs union had not changed.
Which is slightly different to 'we will be leaving the single market'.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

A Hard Brexit is now as likely as a Conservative landslide on the 8th of June.

I credit that due to Scottish Labour* trying to drive tactical voting rather than any skill coming from RD, who just comes across as a nasty single-issue woman. So perfect for Tory leadership
*The irony being that if they hadn't teamed up against the SNP, Corbyn would be in No 10 without any contest.
I agree.
You can't take away from she did well here, but I think there is a huge question over sustainability.
I know there were a number of seats where the unionist parties offered only paper candidates and did not actively campaign in order to oust SNP.
Will they be willing to do the same when facing non SNP opposition?
I also read about the mass weighting of expenditure from the Conservatives versus SNP, certainly in my constituency (5:1) and reported in others. Again, is this sustainable?
The SNP need to think hard about how to approach elections, certainly it seems to be a winner having a campaign on a single focus:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

Interesting.
Ruth Davidson to attend Theresa May cabinet meeting as PM seeks to woo Scottish Tory leaderScottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson is meeting Theresa May in Downing Street on Monday, after demanding that the Prime Minister’s Brexit plan is re-opened.Ms Davidson is part of a powerful new soft-Brexit axis at the top of the Tory party, along with Chancellor Philip Hammond who is said to have demanded a 'jobs first' approach as a condition of backing Ms May's leadership.
Damian Green, who backed remain in last year's referendum, has also been appointed First Secretary of State, a title which effectively makes him Ms May's deputy.

Especially since the results were very close in a lot of seats. They'll need to try pretty hard to avoid losing them next time, especially since the strategic voting plan is busted.0 -
fun4everyone wrote: »chuck how do you feel about the depths of police cuts? Normal crime such as burglary is not even investigated any more. Violent crime they are "too busy" to attend if you dial 999. That is not the mark of a civilised country. I do not buy the "austerity" line when tax cuts are handed out left right and centre

The above is a great short video just showing the depth of the cuts
Which has led to the following

I presume your point is we should hate the Labour party for destroying the economy & making such cuts nececessary?
And avoid like the plague a Corbyn Labour Govt, which would destroy the economy so badly that even bigger cuts than those you quote would be required to fix it after?0
