    Just had a walk.
Too much for me to get my head around in one read.
    will do so though

For Task Scheduler you Press Win Key + R, this time type taskschd.msc is important you run as Admin so if not an admin start typing "task sch" and then right click Task Scheduler then run as Administrator

Familiarise yourself with the subject on this page

No way I would tolerate this, I doubt is needed but try to rid yourself of it.

been with them 19 years, and no problems.
I'm no Techie, that's why I'm asking for advice.
    Just done startup with EnRIK?
Going to see just how my Pc operates when I come to boot up in the morning.
    Then take it from there
Appreciate everyones help, I really do, but, very hard to follow everyones advice.
the aswmbr I'm certain caused the startup problem, it's only occurred since I ran their Rootkit scan?

I will follow your advice and read everything through, and do what I think I'm capable of.
    Thanks for breaking it down.
    everythings easy, when you know how;
lot of cards on the mantleshelf now:-)
This Pc had a clean re-instal 3 years ago, when upgraded from Vista to W7.

I use FileHippo too, and as my lifetime premium version has the 3.0, FileHippo only had the basic 2.2 if I recall the other day, and no realtime .?
    will double check though.
Thanks again, appreciate everything you have done for me.
I ,ve had your assistance a while back, last time I used Highjackthis,(when I could post it direct onto here,) years ago, and you were very helpfull then.?
    cheers

    Oh thank you

For myself I would read them, decide which you use, take time out to see how your machine performs now. It's not a race to clean up everything at once. Perhaps do a system backup whilst it is "ok".

Alienrik couldn't see too much untoward and nor can I, there may be some tweaks that maybe would improve things, but one at a time, even so called experts have been known to get in a mess by rushing things.

    Thanks D, that's sound advice.
    Will do that.
As I don't use it much, basically paper etc, nothing secure wise, Banking, shopping, etc,I use I-pad for that, because for a long time I have suspected something not right, and lost faith in it.
Will never trust using it for that, whatever I do to it now.
Perhaps it's just me being a Tad paranoid.:)
I'm even going to change E-mail PW and not use Pc for them, just I-pad.
Until I'm sure it's as clean as can be.
I just cannot get to grips with I-pad for general stuff, too small, and fiddly.
Not really a lover of them, but need one for banking etc.
will get there, plenty time to spare:beer:

First thing that jumps out is that you have MULTIPLE AV products running, some may be expired but they could be protecting a part of the disk that MBAM is trying to search for rootkits on. Also every damn file you open gets scanned by each of them cause it to go slow.

At this stage I would remove ALL AV software starting with these and use standalone scanners, you will need to uninstall using the uninstall from each program or they may assume you are a virus trying to disable them. If you removed them and these are remnants then get tools from each AV site. If after running removal or uninstall for each of these then install ccleaner from author Piriform site

These are the ones you want gone but you will need to try each AV uninstall first, either from start menu or get revo uninstaller which will launch uninstall but clean up their shiiite after if you use option 4

David, regarding step 1, getting rid of above.
With what do I replace them with.
I thought Avast and Mbam were good?
    What are stand alone A/vs?
I guess by remove, you mean , uninstal from programs in control panel?
I have removed Secunia using it today.
    Also Rapport.

    Good:).
Just reading of stand alone ( usb) av's
    Lots of updating to do.

    curious about mbam.
EnRIK said he would remove it and re-instal, but file hippo only have 2.2.1.
I have premium 3, with life licence.
Is it not a retro step?
    unless mine is a problem?
No good me asking advice, and not taking it.
once removed , too late, and inferior product
    Step 1 gone:)
I'm better on the Savings and Banking sites, than Techie.:-)
    Know what I'm doing
