Not at all, you don't come here, ask a question then delete the question like it was never asked. We're not mugs. You leave the question, IF someone in the same situation comes across it in the future they can learn from it too.

THAT'S HOW THE FORUM WORKS, if Ohreally didn't do it, one of us would have done it.

Hopefully you wont get triggered the next time it happens.

    Quite!

Another forum I use only allows you to edit a post for about 15 mins after posting (i.e. just time to re-read and correct any typos). It would be a good idea if this forum did the same.

We can't always get what we want.

One of the benefits of this site is that advice given to one person is often helpful to others. This is lost if someone gets an answer and immediately deletes their post.

I totally agree, and even asked the Mods if they could stop this being done. Their feeling is that the way things are is the lesser of two evils, as otherwise the OP could demand that the whole thread be deleted. With the increased occurrence of OP deleting posts I'm inclined to quote the entire OP in my reply unless somebody else has already done so.

What has always intrigued me is how people find a copy of the deleted post to reinstate.

If you type this webpage's url into a search engine, and click on the cache, you can view the original posts unless the cache has been wiped clean.

Copy the url of the thread, and paste it into google.
The results should look like this:

Click the arrow to the right of the green text to access the cached post. Doesn't always work (you still have to be pretty quick).

What a d*ck you are. OP clearly wanted to delete his/her post.

And your post has been reported for personal abuse. Please read forum rules before posting again.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

When my uncle took over a management role he stopped everyone working from home. People weren't happy but it was causing exclusion, isolation and lack of efficiency. People were losing touch with the work, some people were actually becoming nervous and unable to work in meetings etc.

So he stopped the lot. He wasn't popular but he absolutely could do it.

If you working from home is a 'perk' of the job and not in your contract as your workplace, then you are 'not right' and he can absolutely stop it

If OP has been working at home for some time, the right to do so may form part of his contract through custom and practice. Depending on what his claimed serious condition is, it may also be a reasonable adjustment. The boss absolutely cannot withdraw home working without considering the facts of the situation.

All irrelevant to the OP's situation though, as I doubt he'll have a job for much longer with his attitude ;)

A man of integrity doesn't go reinstating a post someone wanted removed.

I would turn that argument on its head. A man of integrity wouldn't ask for advice and then delete their post after others have gone to the trouble of replying to it.

And you have been reported to the haven of d*cks. It's not personal abuse, it's a statement of fact. A man of integrity doesn't go reinstating a post someone wanted removed. You are just one of those d*cks who think making threats of 'reporting' someone allows you to be a d*ck. You are still a d*ck. Doesn't change this fact.

People deleting their posts because others don't agree with them is a personal bugbear of mine on this forum so I have no issue with people returning posts.

The OP seems to have a vastly inflated opinion of himself and if you go against a manager they'll only ever be one winner. Unless WFH is written into your contract you have no right to it and this manager is within his rights to ask you to attend the office. Everything else in your post is largely irrelevant. If you don't like the new situation your only option is to seek work elsewhere.
