You can't resolve this quickly. When two people take up positions as rigidly as you have, it isn't going to get resolved quickly. You need to see that you are part of the problem. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

..........Hi,
To cut a long story short. My new manager (they're only a first line manager , acting) has a bee in their bonnet over where i work (home). The manager in question is old fashioned, and has a hightened sense of power now they're acting.
I have had 'fights' with a manager previously, much higher in the chain than this one. I was right last time (totally different scenario, 5 years ago). Im right this time. Only now I am unwell with a serious condition.
My question is, how do i resolve this matter over where I work quickly. I know I will 'win' because 1. I am doing nothing wrong and work is getting done (im very motivated). 2. I will not let it go, and if this person does not change their position, i will continue the case to the end, whether it is in my favour or not , out of principle. Last time, i built up a vendetta and almost took down a senior manager.
Thank youDon’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
With that "I'm right" attitude it does seem that their manager will have a problem! I would have thought where somebody works from is a management decision, unless it's written into the contract. If a manager decides working from home isn't working from their perspective they probably have the right to say the person must work from the office.
With the OP spraying words like 'vendetta' and 'took down' around the place they don't sound like somebody I'd want to manage.0 -
I'd take the approach of negotiation. Nobody wants to be told they are 'wrong' and having a ' fight' over issues will just mark you as difficult to manage. If you get someone's back up they are less likely to want to help or compromise. Much better to use a bit of charm ( even if it is fake!).0

Is it your right to work from home or is it something the company is letting you do?
If your contract states that you will work from home then fine, otherwise you may find you are right with no job. I could imagine staff being annoyed having to go to work while you stay at home though.0 -

What a d*ck you are. OP clearly wanted to delete his/her post.
Not at all, you don't come here, ask a question then delete the question like it was never asked. We're not mugs. You leave the question, IF someone in the same situation comes across it in the future they can learn from it too.
THAT'S HOW THE FORUM WORKS, if Ohreally didn't do it, one of us would have done it.
Hopefully you wont get triggered the next time it happens.0 -

When my uncle took over a management role he stopped everyone working from home. People weren't happy but it was causing exclusion, isolation and lack of efficiency. People were losing touch with the work, some people were actually becoming nervous and unable to work in meetings etc.
So he stopped the lot. He wasn't popular but he absolutely could do it.
If you working from home is a 'perk' of the job and not in your contract as your workplace, then you are 'not right' and he can absolutely stop it0 -
I noticed how he threw in the 'I'm unwell with a serious condition' (yet has the energy to fight to the bitter end). I think that will be his argument and tbh i dont think it will work, im kinda getting the impression op isnt popular at work so their goes the favors too.0

You really need to specify what game you're playing, OP. Different bosses require handling in different ways. Luckily for you, there are endless resources online to help you with your preparation.
Firstly, you must be in the best of health. It's worth some health backups where possible. The difficulty arises when you have to balance health with other tools, i.e potions or weapons.
Here is one of my favourite boss battles:
Personally, I like to wear a red suit and hover boots, it's more difficult, but that's just for fun. What really matters is your technique.
Best of luck with your boss fights, I'm being like totally serious.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
