ali-t I agree some of the same symptoms of substance abuse are definitely there! This might sound over the top but I sometimes worry people (namely my colleagues) might think I have an alcohol problem. I go red, I even slur my speech and am clumsy when I need sugar. I've actually started to avoid being round people at these times and finding although I planned to exercise regularly I don't do it as I often as I want as I feel too weak and shaky to do it. I'm thinking of going to the gp but not sure if they can help or I'm just wasting time.

When was the last time you had blood tests done? Those symptoms need a doctor, not a diet plan! Yes make an appointment with your GP, that's what you do when you feel unwell and you don't know why!

    This!!!

Definitely go and see your GP, what you're experiencing is not normal. I honestly used to think I was a sugar addict but I now know I am not. Since starting IE, I have not eaten anywhere near as much. But, as Red Squirrel says, this is different, this is what your doc is for.

    Good luck.

This is the idea put forward by the author of 'Sapiens', an overview of human history. He thinks that the 'Agricultural Revolution' was a disaster for the human race. Instead of all that healthy running after game or from predators and rival tribes, climbing after fruit etc, we were condemned to a lot of back strain, bending in the hot sun, and eating a limited range of cereals which are not as varied nutritionally as fruit, berries, fresh meat etc.

Well the part about diet is nonsense, as if you have cleared away some land in order to plant cereal, there's nothing preventing you from going into the forest and picking some berries. Or leaving it to the hunter-gatherers and trading them some of your cereal for some of their berries and meat.

As for the physical aspect, why is your Poldark-type farmer with a bad back but tree-trunk like arms from swinging a scythe all day less physically ideal than your lean but malnourished hunter-gatherer?

Not to mention that because agriculture is so much more efficient than hunter-gathering, it leaves us much more free time to improve ourselves in whatever way we see fit. You can't build a gym or a library if the entire tribe has to spend the whole day stalking game.

In fairness, they probably wouldn't need a gym.

You might want to read the book, it's actually very interesting. The switch to agriculture actually resulted in less 'free time' for early humans. The author is a respected university professor, he might just have some idea what he's talking about. ;)

I will go to see the gp because i feel so bad. I'm still prepared that I might just have a terrible diet and lack willpower but seems sensible to rule out other stuff. I'm just a bit embarrassed that this is probably self inflicted.

Ring first thing tomorrow morning, please! And don't play it down when you see the doc.

someone said their dog had bad skin and fur so they stopped given it that wheat based dog food, and put it on a meat and a bit of veg diet and the things cleared up ad the fur looks healthy.
it makes you think are we really suppose to eat wheat products?
my ex girl friend made her dog be a vegetarian, thats cruel:D
however the dog looked ok, wasnt bald or nought.:)
