We don't. We do however get bent out of shape when people say that no-one should run because it is boring (which is subjective) and is bad for you (which is objectively wrong).0 -
I know its only few days but I have decided to eat 'normal' foods just less of it and drink more water and i feel happier already. I haven't felt frustrated or limited or constantly hungry or thinking about food. I'd rather enjoy a smaller portion of full fat whatever than loads of stuff I don't really want. I was getting sick of mug shots and mushy peas. Tasty but I never felt full. Thanks again for the support.0

I think they've still got to lose it, not sure they have yet...
Been looking at the 5:2 today too. I wish someone could just do me a meal plan lol. So much easier! Found a list of nice recipes for under 250 cals, but it didn't say exactly how many so no idea what else I could eat that day... I go a bit number blind when it comes to diets!
Jx
Typically, I'll skip breakfast (as I don't tend to feel as hungry if I haven't had anything to eat) and have my first food at about 3pm. I usually eat a vegetable soup for about 150 calories (carrot and coriander, mushroom, tomato - hundreds of calorie counted recipes out there and most of them freeze really well).
For evening in the summer I'll have a salad with either an egg or some chicken with it for about 250 calories. In the winter I like something hot, so might stir fry some broccoli with chicken, garlic and chilly (or something like that). You can get a surprising amount if you choose wisely.
And the unintended effects for me have been really surprising - I've got used to what it really is to feel hungry again and tend to eat less out of boredom. I've (re-)learned how little you actually need to eat to feel full. I've (re-)learned how long it takes after you've eaten before you feel full - I now never eat dessert or anything "extra" for at least 30 minutes after my meal as I can't really tell if I'm hungry or not. I've learned how often I really do mistake thirst for hunger and now will drink some water then wait 10 minutes before deciding I'm really hungry.
For me - I find only having to think about what I eat two days a week really freeing and easy to stick with. Everyone is different of course, so you may not have the same feel.Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Good luck, I think that is the most sensible approach. I have tried various diets over the years and find them hard to stick to. I lasted a morning with 5:2, just knowing I was allowed so few calories to last a whole day made me feel drained by lunchtime. Even when on a normal day I only have time for a slice of toast up to lunchtime anyway.0 -

It possibly used to be, but sizing has got enormous these days. A true size 12 is about a modern day size 8.
In fact I actually measured the waist on a size 8 skirt and it measured 30 inches!!
Size 12-14 is getting big, unless you happen to be very tall.0 -

I suspect that you may have a dodgy tape measure or the skirt was mislabelled. My wife has several size 8 skirts and a 25 inch waist. A 30 inch waist skirt would end up around her knees.0 -

Size 12-14 is getting big, unless you happen to be very tall.I was a size 12 when I got married for the first time.
Now I wear size 12 trousers & a 14 top/dress.
But I'm nowhere near the same size as I was 43 years ago.
A proper size 10 skirt was a 22" waist and a 12 was 24" waist.
Tiny! Tiny! Tiny!
But it was the norm for many women at that time.
I still have a skirt from all those years ago and it really does measure 12" across the waistband.
Heavens knows what size my current 12 M&S trousers would have been back on the early 1970s. :eek:0 -

This chart shows the change in sizes since the mid 70s -
