Many schools provide a homework diary and schedule of the weeks lessons. If need be, get her a diary and tell her to use it to ensure homework is done on time, equipment for lessons such as PE taken in and special events/trips written down. Additionally, have a chat with her about if she's comfortable in her kit or if there's anything bothering her (ie. friendship problems, hygiene reasons, period troubles, just hates PE etc. etc.).

As for what a school should do - I would expect some solution which still gets the students exercise and discouraged forgetting kit in future.

We had lockers, and by that age the students between us had organised some spare kit so forgotten stuff was usually quietly sorted out without involving the teachers.

You shouldn't expect anything from a 14 year old.
If you want to stop micromanaging then you will have to let go of what the school does when she forgets whatever she forgets.
I think this is the best advice. I'll just have to let her accept what the school does when she forgets. Unfortunately they don't keep spare kit and she still had to do the lesson, hence why I was thinking of getting involved, but I'll just leave it.

They are not going to let 14 year olds do PE in their undies, If she has forgotten her kit before she must know what the resolution was as she has had it happen already.

My older kids when at school used kit form the lost property box on the odd occasion or came home at lunch time to pick it up.

Know idea why you would get involved with what the school would do if your child has already been in this situation and you know what they did that time.

Well, that is what happened. But its her own fault so I'll just let the school get on and deal with her.

What happened? PE in her undies or sent home for it or lost property box or what? Your post is very vague to say the least

I can not believe a 14 year old female was made to do gym in her underwear. It would not happen.

From post 24 I gather she had to do PE in whatever she was wearing. Unless it was swimming, or she had shoes which were impractical to the extent of being a safety issue that seems to me to be a reasonable and direct consequence for forgetting.

In a deleted earlier post, which was deleted due to there being three duplicated threads, the OP did state daughter did PE in her underwear.
