You were trying to get Premium seats without paying for them? Why doesn't that surprise me!
Where did he say he was trying to get premium seats, he just wanted seats together AIUI.

Worth mentioning: on the return flight at the Dem. Republic they were insisting to purchase the Premium Seats instead and when I asked why not allocating us adjacent seats together without the premium... she was like ermmmm need to talk to my Manager

I really doubt that 'they' were 'insisting' that you buy Premium seats.
They may have been agressively selling or actively encouraging passengers to pay for Premium seats but not 'insisting'.

Maybe they were trying to tell you that there were adjacent seats in Premium class - obviously at an extra cost - but not in the class you booked.

    UPDATE
Just wanted to give you all an update about this topic.

We arrived at the Airport round 8am for checking and we sat one in front of other < close enough.
The return flight was same pattern :) and yes, was delighted about it.

The money saved for the seats, we spent on Catalina Island (activity).

for those who like to know about:
Domincan Republic - Punta Cana > has got a great beach / sea but a lot of wind and waves.

Also the english spoken level is very poor :(
Main language spoken at the resort was Spanish and the English was not really understood.

Overall, great experience but won't go back again.

I'm quite surprised to see this comment from you about the poor level of English spoken, given from your own posts that I assumed that English is not your first language either as your English is very broken ....
