Yes. And If they decide to void the policy then they will look to you to reimburse any payouts made to the third party.

We don't want to claim anything.

Why not? What's happened to the vehicle?
  • From the sounds of it the fraud investigator is investigating the other party considering the OP's allegations. There is no point cancelling the policy now. It wont make any difference apart from drawing attention to yourself.

If anything it will make it look worse i.e you being part of a set up accident. The insurer may overlook the number of years driving but cancelling the policy will make it look 100 times worse.

Never trust anyone other than yourselves. You must check all forms before you submit or continue insurance cover.

Did they not give you the insurance summary of what info you put down???

There is always the chance they may ask you to pay the extra premium (amount for having 4 years driving experience opposed to 8 years, especially if you had some kind of proof it was a genuine error

It was all online. No letters. We only came to know when we looked at the e-mails just now.

our vehicle's front is totally gone and the engineer came and said its not driveable. but we don't wanna claim as we don't want the company to think that we are trying to get something out of it.

Well, we are more than happy to pay anything out and pay the difference. As long as they ask us to do so. But the thing is that they might end up voiding our policy as the claim money is more and our insurance was not that much. And at this point when my partner's earnings are all dependent on is new taxi job, this sounds very worrying.

So, you think that if partner has not accused other party of a pre-planned accident, the investigator might not have showed up?

The fraud investigator looks to have been instigated following your report that the incident may have been staged.

But the doctored Insurance application would still have come to light as previously mentioned. Insurers do go over everything at the time of a claim!
