I wonder if the staff are on a pound a hour?
On a similar note after brexit are we going to get rid of kilos?

And what about back to gallons of petrol.. ?
I hope not. The Imperial system is daft. Britain should have ditched it properly instead of running two systems alongside each other.

I went to Halfords, bought an oil filter, 5 litres of Mobile 3000 FS 5W30, 2 litres of FS75W gearbox oil and an oil drain can for £30.

If you've got a trade card Halfords is no more expensive than Andrew Page the trade supplier.

I suppose a quick visit to the Halfords web site via google would've answered your question.

Essentially you need to prove you're a mechanic of some sort, tradesman or taxi/courier driver.

Metric is superior but in reality the only items that have to be in imperial units as far as I know are road distances/speeds (miles) and beer (pints).

Everything else is in metric units.

    Agreed.

It's only a matter of time before some Brexit supporter proposes returning to Imperial, so it's worth pointing out that parliament decided to move to metric in the 1960s and it had nothing to do with the EU.

Duodecimal (base 12) is actually more practical because it factorises better. If you have a dozen of something you can split it into half dozens, third dozens, quarter dozens and sixth dozens and still end up with whole numbers. If you have 10 of something you can only have halfs or fifths without cutting one of the items up.

The illogical bit was way back when we settled on base 10 for numbering - for the sake of two extra numerals we could have had a coherent and logical duodecimal system.

The only downside to it is that unless you're from Norfolk or Alabama you can't count to 12 on your fingers.
