The professional repairs to your car is the compensation you are entitled to.0 -

How on earth would they find that out? It quite clearly isn't written off as they're going to repair it and only a write off would appear in a HPI check. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I think the OP is angling for a brand new car here. Which isn't going to happen. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
The professional repairs to your car is the compensation you are entitled to.
Indeed. With such a new car i'd have put it into the dealership for the repairs, got a hire car similar to / same as the one being repaired and then send the bill to Bovis, assuming liability isn't disputed.
No way i'd be appointing my own insurance company's repairers on a new car though! All your base are belong to us.0 -
Have they given you a hire car that's similar in size to the damaged vehicle? If so - that pretty much minimises your inconvenience, plus all those miles you do in their car aren't added to your vehicle's mileage/wear and tear/etc.
What may be worth asking is whether this claim is going to affect future premiums through no fault of your own. You could try doing some dummy quotes online to see what the premiums are like with/without the incident. If there is a difference, you could try to put it to them as part of the claim (you lose nothing by asking).0 -

This.
Without a doubt.
The last thing you want is a corrosion warranty claim turned down because the repair isn't good enough.0 -
For a no fault claim you will not loose NCB, but your base premium will increase for 3 or 5 years depending on which insurer."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I would be seriously annoyed as well. A brand new car is not the same as a brand new car that has been repaired. It's nearly always obvious that a car has had a repair, no matter how well it has been done. Insurance premiums will increase, but hopefully not by much (I don't know how this is justified). However, it is still to the OP's detriment.
Having said all that, I don't think there is any choice in the matter.Je suis sabot...0 -

Nothing will be recorded anywhere unless the car is written off. If the repair is of a good standard, then nobody except you will ever know.
The only time anything is recorded is if the car is declared a total loss, otherwise nothing shows. Who knows your golf may have already had a repair before you purchased it.0
