PCN Edinburgh - help!

Hi everyone,
Sorry to be a pest but I've read the newbies stickie and just wanted to double check that I'm on the right track and not messing up!
I received a PCN from UKPC one hour and a half into a two and a half hour shopping trip at a retail park near Edinburgh.
The reason given was that they believe I left the site.
I did buy something at the end of the trip and have a receipt.
From reading the newbie thread it seems to say 'ignore them, keep the letters and don't give them the name of the driver if you're in Scotland', but this info looked like it was from 2013... is this still the case?
I haven't looked at the photo 'evidence' on their site as I'm worried that will be an admission of ownership/guilt/involvement/any of the above!!
If anyone has experience of this or could confirm whether I've found the most up to date info that would be brilliant!
Thanks in advance :)

Added info: it's free to park for a set amount of time and I wasn't over the limit

Do you live in Scotland ??

"The reason given was that they believe I left the site"

Assume they can prove that with photographic evidence ?

Trouble UKPC have, is they are well known for faking pictures

    Hi Beamerguy,
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me :)
    Yes I live in Scotland.
There's basically a tram stop near the retail park and I walked there with my friend (carrying her bags as she's pregnant!) as she was getting the tram to town where her husband was picking her up... argh was trying to help!
If I log in to check what pics they have, does that admit liability?!
    Thanks in advance

The advice for Scotland is up to date, however as long as you do not identify the driver, or give any hints as to who may have been driving
complain to the retail park owner, also have a quick look at Ibotson vs VCS, google "Ibotson, VCS, Miss Coates, Toothbrush" and use that in your complaint to the retail park owner
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"

Looking at pictures in no way admits liability. It could be anybody looking. Complaining to the landowner often makes it go away if you are concerned, remember though to complain as the registered keeper and not to admit to driving.

If you are unsure post a draft of your complaint here for review.

Thanks so much! I spotted the toothbrush case when I was furiously googling and the judge sounds like one of the good ones :)
I did give the store where I shopped at a ring but they said that the car park was council owned? Will investigate further...

So, as said, the drivers ID is secret and nothing to do with UKPC

Don't phone them as they know already that they need to know who the driver is/was before they can proceed in Scotland

One of the wheezes UKPC do is pretend they need to know who is driver ..... UKPC rubbish

Next step will be mickey mouse debt collectors writing to you, probably DRP who are indeed worthless senders of bog rolls

Log on to see what pictures they have, there is no liability for doing that

BE AWARE OF FAKE UKPC PICTURES

Thanks waamo, I'll have a peek and see what they've got on file.

Will draft a complaint and pop it up here as you suggest, I'm bound to leave in something that I shouldn't otherwise :)

I know the car park you mean and I doubt it is council owned. My daughter has a couple letters from them and I believe they tried photographing people heading to the station on the path but away from their cars so therefore not tying them up to the car when parked.

Edited to add the B&Q area has had cameras which log cars in and out, has had since way before this company have taken over patroling the car park.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)
