So, as said, the drivers ID is secret and nothing to do with UKPC

Don't phone them as they know already that they need to know who the driver is/was before they can proceed in Scotland

One of the wheezes UKPC do is pretend they need to know who is driver ..... UKPC rubbish

Next step will be mickey mouse debt collectors writing to you, probably DRP who are indeed worthless senders of bog rolls

Log on to see what pictures they have, there is no liability for doing that

BE AWARE OF FAKE UKPC PICTURES

Ah that puts my mind at ease..

Just checked and they have four pics of my car and one of the board that says you're allowed 3 and a half hours, the rest is too small to read!

SO NO "WALK ABOUT" they claim .... sounds like UKPC

As Del Boy says .... Au contraire ... Mon dieu!

I know the car park you mean and I doubt it is council owned. My daughter has a couple letters from them and I believe they tried photographing people heading to the station on the path but away from their cars so therefore not tying them up to the car when parked.

Edited to add the B&Q area has had cameras which log cars in and out, has had since way before this company have taken over patroling the car park.

Thanks! There's a contact form on their website so I'll send the message to them direct when I've drafted one :)
Sorry to hear your daughter's had them too. Seems crazy to think that they'd go that far with secret photos, makes me think I'm going to see someone hiding in a bush!
I was on the other side to B&Q so not sure if that's a good thing or bad

They do, last year a UKPC nomad was pictured hiding behind a wheelie bin ,,, the droids are on commission and they can earn up to an extra £5000 a year if they work hard

Argh... it would be laughable if it wasn't so frustrating. I know a job's a job but it's not one I'd be comfortable with.

I do not think that the droids who work in the UKPC CAR PARKS, even know what is going on

We do know with parking companies, they are trained in the issue of ghost tickets.
Ghost tickets are when the droid attaches a ticket to the screen, takes a picture and then removes it.
The motorists don't know until it's too late to appeal.

UKPC are just a part of the great british SCAM

I've never looked at the signs for the B&Q area which makes me wonder if they "own" their car park. Someone I know went down for some bits and pieces and car was photographed going in but not leaving the car park. He went back later for something else he needed and his car was photographed on leaving so they tied up the two photos wrongly as it happens, this was way before the change to the signs about leaving the car park. I also recently heard about someone in B&Q ordering a kitchen, was so long in the store came out to a ticket!
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

Better to ignore one from Scotland, if you don't know what to write. People have stupidly implied who was driving by thinking they *have to appeal*. You do not.

Best to complain to the landowner or head offices of the retailers (not saying who parked). This is as per the advice already in the NEWBIES thread; nothing has changed.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Thanks! Sorry I wasn't clear in the post... I meant I was going to contact the landowner as I found their contact form online.

Going to post a draft in a mo... cobbled together from other people's letters/emails!

Hi everyone, thanks so much for your help :) I've done some research on other threads and drafted an email to send to the landowners - any criticism or changes gratefully received!

P.S. this site has been a revelation... it's a mine of useful info - a few years ago I would have just grumbled and reluctantly paid!

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I refer to a parking invoice ref XXX issued on DATE on your behalf by UKPC.

I am the registered keeper (though not the driver on the day) of the vehicle registration number XXXX XXX which was parked at the XX Retail Park on the date in question.

During the visit, the driver was browsing a number of stores at the XX Retail Park, including Store 1 and Store 2, and had not 'left the site' as the PCN suggests. Please see attached receipt from Store 2.

The car park at XX Retail Park is free to customers. On the day in question the driver has proof of being a genuine shopper and the vehicle was on site for less than the allowed 3 hours 30 minutes.

In view of this I am asking you to contact UKPC to get the charge cancelled as I understand that you have the authority to do so.

Both the driver and myself are regular customers at XX Retail Park and we hope that this can be rectified in a satisfactory manner.
