No to public posting because honestly last time I tried that on FB (when argos failed to deliver after 3 weeks and failed to refund me almost £300) their response was simply to block me from posting on their page. I did eventually get my money but found that they can block too easily so it didn't really help.
And honestly I've no idea if trading standards is real or if they're like deities you pray to for help but never get responses from. A bit like Matalan CEO. I've tried in the past (re argos) and failed to get hold of an actual person :/

I read that back and I'm already sounding defeated.

Don't be defeated, its all winnable

The issue is not the disabled parking regulations. IM struggling to get them to see its their attitude and that of Smart Parking working on their behalf in their failure to acknowledge the mobility issue hindered progress inside their busy store. They've fixated on the bays/parking before entering rather than what's transpired after entering prior to leaving...

    As per their reply ...
"Even without such legislation Matalan would aim to provide a level of service which would be equal and beneficial to all customers irrespective of age, race, creed, or ability."

Matalan customers be aware ..... what they aim for and what they provide are two different things ????

It has been noted on this forum before, the Matalan approach to good customer service is on the decline so you shop with Matalan at your peril

I have not contacted popla myself with details as I read a thread saying it doesn't always work out if you don't get everything in correct order and all details first time :/
I'm not sure whom to contact next nor where to go from here.

If you're within time to appeal to POPLA, that's your best course of action if Matalan won't play ball.
As a national retailer, we take our responsibilities under the Disabled Discrimination Act very seriously and fully support any legislation designed to end the discrimination that many disabled people face in accessing goods and services.

Matalan are quoting the 'Disabled Discrimination Act - no such Act per se! There used to be a Disability Discrimination Act 1995, but was superseded 7 years ago by the Equality Act 2010. Their (Matalan) misquoting of the original, and their seeming ignorance of the current Act suggests they have thrown you little more than a fob-off line!

They don't seem to appreciate it's not about the initial parking spaces but about understanding the attitude towards the delayed progress whilst inside their store. The discrimination isn't to do with their spaces nor their poorly (if at all) sign posted permits for disabled. It's about the treatment since as they fail to recognise the slower progress due to limited mobility. Regardless that we 'chose' to pay, the discrimination still exists if they fail to recognise it and the disability is fact surely??

I have always found Reading Trading Standards very helpful. Give it a try.

As a national retailer with a customer-facing business, you should be well aware that there is no such Act as the 'Disabled Discrimination Act'. Maybe you meant the old Disability Discrimination Act but surely not, seeing as that was superseded in 2010, seven years ago. As a national retailer you must have updated your disability policy more recently than that and taken into account your obligations under the current law?

Are you really saying you are unaware of the Equality Act 2010 and your legal duties as a service provider?

Nice little letter-bomb to post to them OP! :)
