New HSBC debit card lion design

Has anyone seen or has a new HSBC stndard lion design debit card instead of the widely used 'grey world' debit card? A friend got one and he was told they had only been rolling them out from this March.

Have they also got a new credit card design?

You can get new design now if your a new customer..

The main page of the website also has a picture of it. Looks very nice, and a lot better than the previous design (which was probably the oldest design still in use in the UK - it's been around since HSBC first started issuing Visa Debit in 2009...)

I can't see the new designs on the UK site but they are shown on some other HSBC websites such as Vietnam (the roll-out timetable there also obviously relates to that country)

You like it? Those timescales are clearly not for the UK btw. I damaged my card and got a replacement about a month ago and it was this design. I have an advance account so it was a different colour but IMO it's the ugliest bank card I've ever seen.

I really liked my world map or anything vaguely neutral is fine. An aggressive looking lion, no thanks!

It's beyond me how much attention people pay to how their pieces of plastic look, especially now when these pieces hardly ever get to other people's hands.

I have the new credit card design, looks much better. Just added my HSBC Advance debit to apple pay and the card in my Apple wallet is the same (old) design.
