I think theres a certain amount of tongue in cheek from the OP here.

Thank you. You'd think I was talking to Americans with their lack of appreciation of the old british dryness.

As for good areas in blackpool, youll need to be on the edges. Singleton, kirkham, lytham and poulton are quite nice areas just outside. Youll probably pay more of the premium though.

Some of the houses in blackpool are amazing, huge houses for not much money but there is reasons for that.

It sounds like you want cheap as possible accomodation? Why dont you look at non conventional living arrangements. (ie living in a static home, canal boat, any boat, tiny house etc)

Well I want a normal flat. I have heard that south bank is the main part to avoid then it comes good at lythan st annes. I don't want that far out though.

    This looks ideal location wise

really like the flat too and street view it looks like a nice road/nice looking houses; not just council boxes. Is the area alright?

I was told the area is a mix of students and working class. Students could be bad for noise but otherise good folks; if there weren't too many then should be ok.

See, I work from home too. I can work anywhere too.

You couldn't pay me to live in Blackpool. Rather than 'cheapest possible' why not look at 'somewhere nice to live' ?

I guess this is the reddit thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/AskUK/comments/63w3vr/need_advice_on_what_are_good_and_bad_areas_to/

If I had my choice I'd be living in a flat with a sea view in Sandbanks myself...

    I know that road well.

You're at the right end, at least. The other end is more guest houses and is really town centre.

All those roads leading from Park Road towards Whitegate Drive seem pretty fine. Between Whitegate Drive and the park would be better again.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Well work isn't an issue for me. See below.

Yes I am picking areas at random so what?

I work from home on the internet so am not geographically tied by my work like you mere mortals. As long as I have good internet connection I could work anywhere in the world I so chose.

So rent prices are the main factor currently so I could save money to put back into my business and/or save up.

I would not want to be burgled though which is one thing that concerns me about blackpool since it is said to be so deprived.

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5629754 - given this thread, perhaps joining the 'mere mortals' would be beneficial?

I live in Cleveleys just north of blackpool. Poulton is nice but pricey. Try staining or maybe Freckleton x

I know Staining quite well as a good friend used to live there. It's a lovely quiet village with nice countryside and walks. In the catchment area of good schools so it's mainly a family and residential area.

I don't know anything about you but from some of the things you've written in your posts I don't think it would suit you at all. No nightlife at all.

    I think you'd prefer Blackpool.

That's true. As an American putting people down to make yourself feel superior would be classified as something else besides British humor.
