are you sure it came from GLADRAGS and not DRP ?

WHAT PROOF DO YOU HAVE ON THIS LETTER THAT IT ACTUALLY WAS SENT BY GLADRAGS ?

does it have their golf club address and their phone number and a reference starting with a 1 ?

the £160 sounds more like it came from DRPL

No-one PAYS a private PCN here, and certainly not an allegation of 'leaving the site'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hello, I have read through this thread and a few forums but I just wondered if I could ask for some clarification/reassurance.

I was parked in my office car park which is ‘dare I say’ managed by park direct UK back in June. I have a permit but it was half covered. They issued me with a £100 Fine initially for being parked in my own space. I spoke to our landlord who instructs them, he had corespondence with them which resulted in them “kindly” agreeing to invoice me for just £20 admin fees. I sent the landlord my details and expected to receive an invoice.

After a month of silence they followed up with another letter and I emailed to explain I was willing to pay a maximum £20 admin fee as was confined by my landlord even though I explained I have a permit and the Fine was not in my opinion justified. They even admitted they could see the permit. They offered me a £40 admin fee which I refused as was told £20 which I felt was a liberty in the first place but was happy to pay to shut them up.

In the end after reading lots of forums etc I decided to ignore them and have since revived a multitude of letters from DRP and Zenith collections who I understand are bogus companies. They even offered to reduce the fine to £136 from £160 (increased costs) which I also ignored.

I have now recieved a letter headed from Gladstone’s solicitors for £160 saying our client now has the option to take you to court. The letter asks me to reach out directly to DRP which seems suspect. Based on what I’ve read I’m considering ignoring this but unsure if this is the right course of action.

    I’d really appreciate any advice

    Thanks

That sounds like Gladstones in Debt Collector Mode - Post Four of the Newbies Sticky will enlighten you fully. Nothing else to say or do.
  • Thank you! I did have a read, so I guess I will just ignore for now and see what happens..
  • Hi, just to clarify as I have been reading in more detail. Would you say I should not respond? Some of the info I’ve read is conflicting

Parkingpanic, can I respectfully suggest that if you have continuing queries that you start your own thread?

Apart for it dragging this thread off topic, it is going to be increasingly difficult to progress the different issues of two different people, and that can only lead to confusion.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Please show us the info that is confliciting, so we can make sure it is resolved.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
