Post code issue

Our postcode covers 26 miles of single track road.
Couriers are told 'you have arrived ' 9 miles away from where we actually are.
Most couriers now know where we are but, if stuck , they phone for directions.
If they get lost trying to find us, they first have to find a signal. This at least means there's two or three reliable guesstimates for where they're calling from...0 -
You can contact the post office about it but don't expect a speedy resolution. The best way to deal is to use the extra info box where possible.
My parents have a similar issue - neither their house or street are new builds, and the exact post code does only cover 3 roads. They have got used to having to explain when ordering things. Or they give their mobile number so then can talk someone n as necessary.
I have a slightly different issue in that Royal Mail hasn't updated its database so a lot of auto ill forms put my address in a county which was abolished in 1996, and which my address wasn't in even before it was abolished... For most things it doesn't matter but I do always correct it or things such as insurance, just to be on the safe side.
No you dont contact the Post Office.
You contact the separate company called Royal Mail.
RMs database of PAF wont help an outdated satnav map.0 -

Reminds me of trying to find an off-airport carpark for Birmingham airport, in the early hours of the morning, that had problems with the wrong sat nav info a few years ago. Never did find it, had to sling it in the on-airport carpark and pay again as we were running out of time. Grr.Make £2025 in 2025

I don't understand your question?
My point was that the database exists, but most satnavs aren't updated regularly, which causes problem down to user error.
Phones update automatically, periodically, to the latest version.
Sigh,So the phone updates automatically.
So the OPs house is updated on these maps so that will solve the issue?
No,I'll answer for you. Bleating on that a 'smartphone' will solve this is simply a red herring. They are only as up to date as the database.
So in the case of new builds this can be a long time. Same with Google maps.
Eg

This big building site has been houses for years now.
Its online,a smartphone can access it but *shock* its not going to help find all the streets that don't exist on that map.0
