Do people still use satnavs? I thought most just used phones (which auto update)
From a database. if thats not up to date.............
OP we had the same with our new build. Worse as we are named after an old street that was demolished about a mile away, but with no direct route to use from where the sat nav took people.
You simply need to wait for databases/knowledge to update. If you have a postcode then RMs PAF data is already up to date.0 -

Don't let that stop the sarcasm though, you're clearly enjoying yourself.
Short link to your googlemap location?0 -
Hi,
your postcode covers more than your house, it doesn't just say,0 -
Have you actually checked the RM Postcode Finder yet?

What does your full postcode cover? Just these new-builds? More?0 -
You can contact the post office about it but don't expect a speedy resolution. The best way to deal is to use the extra info box where possible.
My parents have a similar issue - neither their house or street are new builds, and the exact post code does only cover 3 roads. They have got used to having to explain when ordering things. Or they give their mobile number so then can talk someone n as necessary.
I have a slightly different issue in that Royal Mail hasn't updated its database so a lot of auto ill forms put my address in a county which was abolished in 1996, and which my address wasn't in even before it was abolished... For most things it doesn't matter but I do always correct it or things such as insurance, just to be on the safe side. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -

Yes from a database, obviously?
My point was that traditional satnavs need to be updated (from a database too) where as modern smart phones will do this in the background.0 -

B'sides, a lot of people DO still use standalone satnavs, rather than phones, or even ones integrated to the vehicle itself.0 -
Sure, but Custardy's point was that the databases themselves do not update instantly.

Yes I understand, I wasn't necessarily answering the OP. It was more of a general point.
IE in many cases the problem with satnavs is that they aren't updated by the user often (or in some cases im sure at all).0 -
Our postcode covers 26 miles of single track road.
Couriers are told 'you have arrived ' 9 miles away from where we actually are.
Most couriers now know where we are but, if stuck , they phone for directions.0
