I cancelled the movies (£1 a month for three months) and the sports channels last week in our house and nobody has noticed yet :rotfl:

Not sure if your line is still technically a bt line IA!

It all depends on LLU (local loop unbundling). If you've been unbundled, then you're no longer part of BT. To be unbundled, you calls provided has to have their equipment in the local exchange (as opposed to renting part of BT's) - outside of major areas, it's not all that likely.

IA seriously, there are a zillion channels of sh*te on there. I've got Virgin Cable; my house is in one of those anal kinds of neighbourhoods which won't allow aerials and sky dishes. Every time I sit down thinking 'let's see what's on the box' I get so frustrated with the absolute nonsense they show. I did find some good shows, but they are on their 89th repeat now. If it weren't for the kids and their disney channel fetish I'd ditch the whole thing.

i cant believe that virgin/ntl havent secured their TV cable systems against so called "black boxes" which unscramble everything from movies, to pay to view, MUTV and even the xxx channels, whereas SKY need callbacks from boxes, especially 2nd boxes to get any 2nd box discount

Get a big dish, mount it in the garden, and stick a garden shed over it...

  • Why aren't you allowed sky dishes? I think they look quite nice! I'm also looking into either sky/freeview but the new aeriel is costing £110-180 to put in as the one we have is point to the wrong transmitter, hence no digital :o
  • £150 installation!!! that can bog off!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
that's for the dish not the box - did you flog the dish?
  • Wannabemedic if you PM me with your postcode I can look into digital reception for you- £110 to £180 sounds like a huge amount of money...

    IA,
I think the cashback has blinded you a bit. Just think of all the post's where you advised people to get rid of their sky and go to freeview..
Yes it does seem like a good deal but it is another £19 per month to spend witch could go on your debt's... I would wait until these are all clear and then perhaps go for it. Just my opinion though... I am sure you will do what you think is best.
