I have lived in Spain, the south west of England, and "north of the wall":rotfl: I can be happy anywhere.
I believe we should all be able to "bloom where we are planted". Life is what we make it, wherever we live.
It's my 66th birthday today.....- wahoo, the sun is shining, I am covered in paint and as happy as a pig in muck. :rotfl:
A weekend of celebrations is on the horizon......:D
A very happy birthday weekend to you LL.0 -
Thank you......it's started well.
After a day of sunbathing and painting furniture, DS2 dropped in on his way home from work to make me a cup of tea and present me with a soppy card and a beautiful purple orchid.
Tonight I'm sitting in my garden, just about to have my solo supper "al fresco". Calamari, chilli mayonnaise, tomato salad, and a glass of Pinot Noir. Later there will be coffee and chocolate whilst watching a couple of episodes of Game of Thrones.
Yes I am now living alone for the first time in 37 years, doing it with style and panache, embracing my Inner Goddess.
Since "sistergate" I have adopted a new mantra, a new manifesto so to speak. Here it is. It's not mine, I borrowed it from a website
"Life is short, take the trip, buy the shoes, eat the cake".
Not a bad way to live.......;)
And of course the real partying gets going at the weekend.0 -
Happy Birthday LL.
I agree with that mantra. When I was first diagnosed with cancer, I stopped buying things for myself, being very aware that my husband would have to deal with it all when I'm gone.
But a few years later, and I've recently started treating myself again. I've just got back into wearing nail varnish. I hadn't worn any for years, as we have chickens, so my hands were always getting grubby. But now, my husband looks after the chooks, so I've recently bought a few new nail varnishes in different colours. It gives me joy to see my coloured nails!
Enjoy embracing your inner goddess!0 -
Have a wonderful birthday LL. Here's hoping the sun stays out where you are. Gigervamp......definitely paint those nails......
There is something just so wonderfully indulgent and decadent about scarlet toenails. :rotfl:
Having a day off furniture painting. I'm going to sort out some paperwork ready to fire up the chimenea tonight. Well I have opened that bottle of Pinot Noir .....so I shall enjoy a glass whilst watching the flames. I love that.....I think I must have been a pyromaniac in a past life.
I have to wait in for some deliveries today and there's no rain here so I going to enjoy my garden today and soak up some sun.
Have a fab day.0 -
I have to be careful not to get scarlet toenails , by making sure I don't drop anything on my foot carrying bags to the recycling bin.
Just done that . Back is stiff again , but that's partly to the fan blowing on me all night. Still, the living room will be completed later:)
Doubt I'll venture far today ..still hot !0 -
AC. the garden is yours am I not mistaken. Have you got a nice sun chair. I have a couple of zero gravity deckchairs. They are brilliant for stretching out the muscles when your back is bad, they alleviate the pressure on the base of the spine.
Have a few hours off today. Sit out - either the sun or shade - just read, listen to music. You have been working flat out for ages. Don't slog on through the heat ......Take a breather.
It's pleasant here, nice little breeze. Enjoying some morning sun but will go indoors later. Might declutter a couple more cupboards in the kitchen. I just do a couple at a time so as not to get overwhelmed. :rotfl:0 -
AC, are any of your debts with HSBC? I've just had an F&F accepted for 40% of the original debt...thought of you0
