I took advice from good ol' Martin today and haggled my mobile phone contract that ends next month :money::money::money:
On Tesco Mobile - haggled my price down from £11 to £7 a month but with a bit less data ( I don't use much anyway). Told them I was thinking of leaving as I'd found a better deal on I.D Mobile and asked if they could match the deal (£5 for 1.5GB 500 mins & 5000 texts). The guy on customer service was extremely nice and helpful but unfortunatley could'nt match it in terms of price for the amount of data. But I'd read reviews about I.D Mobile and the majority are very negative, so I decided to stay on Tesco as their customer service is bloody fantasticI'm very happy with my new price and no complicated and anxiety inducing mess of switching providers and worrying about my number not being ported properly etc.
I'm well chuffed with working up the courage to haggle, it's so worth it03/03/2020 - The Re-Beginning of the End

Well done - lots of progress since I last caught up on your posts! (Sorry - been on hols / away / working).
What a nuisance regarding your car. From what you say, it doesn't sound as though your Mum is a likely buyer. Would your sister decide either way if you gave her a deadline? Say, the end of this month?
That's a really good mobile deal. Shows it pays to know what you actually use: there's no point paying for data you don't need.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

No worries CherryFudge, I've had a few snoops around your diary and you sound extremely busy but I'm trying to keep up with your posts too haha I love reading them
Well in regards to the car I told my mum that it's annoyed me that people (including her) are not paying me what they owe me or have promised to pay. It got a little heated and she turned it round on me (as usual) and said she can't for this reason or that reason etc. etc - usually involving the many animals that she can't afford to keep (another story that's too long and frustrating to get into) or that my sister needs help paying for this or that. I don't want to get too much into it as it's quite upsetting to talk about but she's always favoured my sister over me - in my mum's eyes my sister's life is always more important than mine. It feels like my needs and life are just put on the backburner - my mum and sister both say they have no money all the time but yet they go on 4 -5 holidays every year together :S The holiday I went on last month is the first one I've had in about 3 years.
It annoys me that they think it's okay to treat me like they do in regards to not ever paying me back - 2 years still waiting for my mum to pay me back £300 I lent her to improve the house but which that money never did get spent on improving the house(yet another long story); £50 still owed to me for a job I did for her (if she hired a professional to do pet sitting for her there would be no excuse for not paying them!?!?) My sister still owes me £400 for the appliances she bought off me 4 years ago and not a penny has been paid even though I bring it up every now and then!
Anyway, eventually after me getting quite pi**ed off, my sister sent me £200 for the car as that was all she could afford right now ( I wanted £380 for it) but with them being the way they are with money, I think that's the best I'm gonna get. So I'm content with the fact that I've recieved some money for it. Just gotta bring the tax and registration docs home when I go next to get it transferred out of my name.
Also I told my mum she needs to start paying off the Very items that she has on my account - her credit score is too bad for her to open her own (kinda speaks for itself ). I keep an eye on my credit score each month and the £600+ that she owes on there is tarnishing my credit score and I want to switch banks come September (hopefully). So I said I want her to pay it off asap so I can improve my score and she's been quite reasonable. She's set up a standing order to pay off £30 a week - but I'm holding my breath as to how long it'll be until she cancels that because she can't afford it.
It's such a mess - I should've listened to my older brother when he said not to lend them two any large amounts of money because of his bad experiences with them not paying him back03/03/2020 - The Re-Beginning of the End

Feeling groggy and ill today, don't know why
My Lloyd's CC DD came out today of £15
New debt total is still just above the 3k mark right now, but when my Barclaycard DD comes out later this month it'll finally be under at £2,975 :T
Although I haven't got the means to pay of the debt as hard as I really want to, I still reflect of how much my attitude to my debt has changed. Sticking things on the credit card, thinking 'oh I'll pay it off later' really was my downfall. So I havent bought anything on it in months- until a week ago; a pair of new shoes (desperately needed!) that I ordered online, and only because I wasn't sure if they would fit me. So I paid for them on my CC so it wouldn't complicate my YNAB budget if I needed to return them. I have just paid the CC off now (the shoes did fit).
But I see now that paying off credit cards are my weakness - I was almost tempted just to let the small balance (£49) stay on there until it bills just to keep more money in my current account. But no, I thought to myself ' What's the point? That attitude is how I landed myself in debt in the first place.'
So I'm happy that I've identified my weakness and I now know that I should definielty keep well clear of buying things on credit cards :rotfl:03/03/2020 - The Re-Beginning of the End

Woop woop! Finally went under the 3k mark today! :j
New total is:
Lloyd's CC: £615
Barclaycard: £2360
=£2975
I'll be getting paid student finance on the 18th Sept (it's been almost 4 months since I last had money coming into my bank!). And I'm looking forward to starting work again. I've got two training days at the start of September and I'll be getting paid for them, which I think will roughly be around £70
I want at least half of all my wages to go into my debt over payment pot, which currently only has £100 in it, and at the end of each month I'm gonna use it to kick down my debts. I can't wait for that feeling of seeing the figures shrink more rapidly each month :beer:03/03/2020 - The Re-Beginning of the End
