Fantastic! That must be a great feeling!
Onward and downward. :jI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It is a great feeling knowing the number is going down, slowly but surely
In other news, had my first shift working in the union shops today. It was only two and a bit hours but it was good and I enjoyed it. The only thing that tripped me up was selling the fags, rizzler, tobacco, filters etc. because I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what they're used for, how people ask for them etc etc. I was glad someone was always with me to help me get them because I was very dumbfounded when people asked for them
Other than that, I think it went well. I asked for more shifts and I've got one on Friday, just for 2 hours again. But hopefully I can ask for more from now until they close for the summer. More debt-busting money, please!!03/03/2020 - The Re-Beginning of the End

Yeah I guess so. I would be quite happy if someone just gave me chocolate as a present anyway haha :rotfl:
I'm gonna make mum some cupcakes for her birthday cake too. She wants to go camping for a night so cupcakes would be easier to bring and eat. So hopefully she'll be happy with them + the chocolate + the small gift leftover from christmas
Yum to cupcakes!!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Great news money-wise today:
Completed my second shift at my new job - plus I got asked if I could stay an extra hour which I gladly accepted :j
Told the manager I'm totally free for all the shifts possible from now until when they close (Mid-May I think)
He scheduled me down for 3 shifts next week, totalling only 7 hours  but better than nothing!
Snagged an extra shift to cover someone else's, so an extra 2 and a half hours shift next week as well
I can't believe how short the shifts are. Ranging from 2- 3 hours, with the odd 4 hours by looking at the weekly rota. But I guess that's because it's run by the students union and they want to prioritise students academic schedules over earning part time money. Ah well
Still, by my calculations, I've earned £40.88 for my two shifts I've done this week.
Next week I will earn £71.25
Totalling £112.13 - not too shabby for my first fortnight of debt busting earnings!
On another note, my progress to sorting Student Finance out to change course again is slowly, but finally, coming along. Hopefully luck/ fate is on my side and I'm allowed to switch to a subject I'm much more passionate about compared to my current one. Just gotta continue playing the waiting game.03/03/2020 - The Re-Beginning of the End

Congrats on all the extra shifts! And I don't know if it's a bit late to apply but some areas are still apparently needing poll clerks which is a well-paid one day job.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Went to the cinema today after work with the OH. Used MSE's meerkat movie trick: bought one-day travel insurance for just £1.11!!! and have now got 2 for 1 cinema tickets for 12 months :money::money::money:
After I went and bought some jeans ( v much needed after my last pair developed holes [ mended them 3 times but they just got totally knackered ].) Had £25 budget for them but managed to get them for £12.85 in a sale
Also, perks of being a student; managed to get a year's free YNAB yesterday after my trial ran out. :j

Popped in Tesco today to get some alcohol for tonight as I'm going out to the pub with my friends. Intended just to buy a four-pack of cider. But as it was sunny and warm, a bottle of Pimms caught my eye  £15  I was stood in the aisle umming and arring for ages. My OH said why not treat yourself since it has been aaaaages since I last drunk or went out properly for that matter. I had the budget for it, but it was supposed to be to buy drinks in the pub. But I can just buy one and sip it very slowly I guess.
Also rumaged through the clothes sale and picked up two tops for £13 altogether - keeping well under budget
I've been thinking lately about my past habits. Buying clothes, expensive and un-needed ones, was a big reason as to why I got myself into a pit of debt in the first place. It's amazing how much my mentality has changed in regards to spending, on anything! YNAB has especially opened my eyes up to this.
I feel guilty treating myself on days like this. It's been over 6 months at least since I last bought clothes, bar the necessary jeans the other day. In the past I would just go on mad spending sprees, mostly online, on clothes that I would only ever wear once and decide actually I dont like it. I could kick my past self for being so naive
But I remember reading somewhere on these forums that getting out of debt is a marathon, not a sprint. If I don't give myself any leeway every now and then I'll burn out. And I still want to be able to enjoy my life, not be stuck inside having no spend weeks, week after week.
Ramble over haha
Have a great, sunny day everyone
