Student loan came in yesterday, and the undisputed deposit amount of £194 came in today. I can finally start budgeting for the semester using YNAB. I am seriously low on funds but I think I can just about manage if I remain sensible.
I've got £290 put aside towards debt over payments so far. I really want to pay off the laptop in January when the second installment comes in.

I've not got long to go now until I reach my goal of paying off at least 50% of my original debt :j

Any further news on the missing £55? They possibly aren't used to people putting up resistance but it sounds to me as though you are owed your full money back.
With it being your final year, working for extra cash wouldn't be ideal but I wonder if there's any seasonal work you could find to help your finances? My daughter used to pack Christmas hampers which meant a few all-nighters but at least it's all condensed into a short time.

Well, it's been a long time since I've posted!
There wasn't a lot of change since my last post regarding finances. I've been continually chipping away at the debt and I've gotten it down to £2025 overall: £275 left on the new laptop money transfer and £1750 left on the original debt.
However, a lot has happened in the past week which has been good and bad:

    1) My penultimate deadlines at uni are over and I've temporarily moved back home. My room contract doesn't run out until the end of July but I've been incredibly homesick. I've just got two more deadlines due in August which I don't have to be physically at the uni to complete and then I'm finished with university :D

    2) After months and months of applying for jobs and having interviews, I've finally secured myself a full-time permanent job as a mortgage assessor back in my home town! It pays 17k plus bonuses :D:D:D

    3) Said job requires transport so I need a car. I've been to look at one and put a deposit down for it and I'll be picking it up this week.

    4) Said car requires money I don't have so I've borrowed £1000 from a family member and did a £2000 0% money transfer to cover the rest and to pay the insurance (£379) and to tax it :(

It's gonna be a few more weeks until I start the new job and then maybe another month or so until my first pay, so I'm just gonna have to make ends meet until then. Me and my partner are planning on moving in together asap, just as soon as he has secured a job around here too. He's able to transfer from the supermarket store he works in now to one around this area but he has an animator job interview lined up soon, so we're hoping he gets that more.

I know living apart and at our respective parents' houses will be cheaper financially, but I've stolen one of my little sister's bedroom, my mum's sleeping on the sofa and I'm living out of a suitcase. This is just not viable, so we're hoping that very soon me and my boyfriend can live together, after a year of living apart whilst I've been at uni. I can't wait! :D

It's pained me to see my debt total almost double after doing the money transfer, but I'm very happy that I'll be in a much better position to pay it all off very soon!
*Sigh* I'm going to update my signature with the new figures :(

Good to hear from you again. :)
Well done on the job, that's a big step forward!
Your home situation is a bit like ours: all of our three were back at some point, two still are (one with partner). This means youngest had to give up his room, but it's still nice to have some us under the same roof, even though we've had our moments!
Cars are a mixed blessing, aren't they? I'm sorry to hear yours has set back your finances, though hopefully once you're earning you will be able to get it paid off.

Good luck with the rest of the degree - not long to go now!

    Thank you CherryFudge!
Yes, it is lovely being back with my family, but it certainly does have its moments :rotfl:
My partner has just secured a local job and starts next week. This means that he'll be squishing in with me on the sofa too.
Definitely in need of our own place asap!
