Curve, sorry to hear about you braking your leg, I know I wouldn't be able to cope if DP was doing grocery shopping and neither would he, what about online shopping? I know I would!
naughty one for me, adding in a takeaway I bought, because we'd spent the day painting, I picked up the boys from school and went back over the new house where we have no food yet (not moving in for another few weeks) and remembered I haddn't fed the kids
how bad is that. Anyway ended up at the fish shop, was a nice treat aswell I suppose. Also if I work it out on a weekly basis, I have £67.50 per week, in 4 days I have only spent £28.47 so I don't think I am doing bad at all. Ok I'll stop with the excuses..........
Meal plan tomorrow, see what shopping I need when I have done that. One day I might be more organised...........

Oh, I can't play this month... I was doing ever so well in September (as per my sig) and then I went and broke my leg. So DH is in charge of the shopping and we are living off ready meals for the next six weeks or so - the budget has gone to rat tish.

Just did my first October shop, using Sainsburys online for the first time. I am emptying the freezer gradually, but want to have some variety, so I did get some meat, just not a whole week's worth. Annoyed that they didn't have drinites in an 8-15, just the boxer short type, which is no good for a semi-incontinent child. No vegemite either. But otherwise, it was quite a good experience. Spent about £90, which included 4 bottles of good wine and 6 bottles of fancy beer for hubby. So that was within my budget and there is plenty over for any extras I turn out to have forgotten.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000

I had a bit of a result, when I set-up my forum I became affiliated to a company called Natoora and they sent me a voucher for £25 with no minimum spend... I realised at the weekend that it had to be used by the 30th Sept so I went on there and ordered £25 worth of food!! I didn't know what to get really so went for treat stuff, I got some guinea fowl, chorizo, nuts in chocolate, some caramel dessert things and something else I can't remember... It's arriving this afternoon so can't wait to see what I got for free!
I've also been off sick most of the week with tonsillitis so haven't spent any money whatsoever, so that must be a good thing...0 -
Howz everyone doing??
This seems to be really working for me!!! I am being very disciplined and using freezer food and reducing the cupboard mountain. Because I know that I will have to confess all my spends on here I am walking right past bogofs, just heading straight for what I need and then quickly exiting the shop!!!:T So far this week, I have spent about a fiver on bread, milk and some fruit. The weekend is always the tough bit for me because we tend to go out for the day and meal planning goes out the window and we end up with a chippy or takeaway. Well, will report in with the total for Week1 on Sunday, have a good weekend everyone:D:j
Thanks for all your help!!!:T0 -
I'm making a big spag bol tonight, should have at least 3 for the freezer...0

Did really well this week as we are trying to eat everything possible in the freezer and cupboards ready for moving on the 12th :j . Shouldn't spend this much either. Might have to resort to a takeaway end of the week (or see if my Mum will feed us  )
Having problems with Thanks button at the moment. Any suggestions? Have tried everything I found on the Forums but to no avail! Hate not thanking people. So here's one for everyone.
Thanks!MFiT-T2 No.350 -
Hi Girls,
Well I have spent €6.72 today and €5.30 yesterday, which brings the total to €19.69 so far this week. I still have to go to the butchers tommorrow.
I had to spend money on a drink whilst out today (not something I usually do) as I was having a hot flush. I also bought some emmental as a treat.
So far It has gone really well. Much more organised that usual, I don't spend so much time dithering about dinner.
I've just discovered stir fries and cannot believe I've never done them before.
wishing you all a good weekend, and good grocery hunting

Oops Oops naughty naughty me Just got back from mr T having spent £74.36p GRRRR
Should never of took my 3 yr old with me, i even took a list which yes reminded me what i needed but i never managed to stick to it.
could not believe my milk had gone from £1.09 for 2 litres up to £1.24 but cravendale had 2 for £2 so got that.
Saw lots of things reduce that no i did not NEED now but would use in the future so got them but i will probably use for sake of now i have them as really were not needed.
bought loads of sweet stuff and i mean loads, ended up having a bad day at work so i got home and realised i had been comfort food seeking and have spent about £10 on it:eek:.
had to put another £15 on the shopping bill as i had a voucher to get 150 points if i toped up for xmas savings so i did that.
got my TURKEY normally spend about £10 on one freezer in big enough but i often get it late so i pay the price for the smaller weight in the price range as the bigger ones have gone but there was 1 large one left and was the top weight (hope it fits in the oven) for £13 (1/2 price was £26) Bernard Mathews Norfolk. So i grabbed it.
oh well is not too bad is just not too good either. just got to keep the rest of my spending at the minimum for the rest of the month.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

Spent some more today for stuff to go over to new house, we're not moving until 21st but will end up buying lunch out if I forget to take some over when doing work on it etc so bought some things to make things on toast and sandwiches with, got some bread which I can freeze in bits. Some juice for the boys & some small snacks apples, raisins etc, some quick oven chips and fish fingers for when I forget to feed them
thankfully is already fridge/freezer and cooker over there. Oh and loo rolls :rotfl: because they had to use kitchen roll last time & were not impressed.
kunekune just noticed about the drynites, supposedly they're changing them all to the shorts and stopping doing the 'pants' type ones, have you tried asking for a referal to your local incontinence nurse? You can sometimes get night time protection (and day time if required) once they are over 4 years old I think it is.One day I might be more organised...........
