Hi all.
Haven't updated for a while - still nothing to report...still plodding on doing my part time job and trying to find another job as well...luckily I had some savings so will be ok for a short while, but still, another job would come in very handy right now.
Still managing to overpay the mortgage by £150 a month, not much, but better than nothing.
Mortgage balance still teetering over £48k, nearly in the 47's...
Hopefully will have more interesting things to write in my diary soon.
Thank you Greent for checking in on me xx
Take care all,

Hi Crowdie!
£150 a month is most definitely not to be sniffed at - especially whilst you're on just the one part time income - don't put your efforts down - you're doing great! - and close to the 47s, too - that's fab
Fingers crossed you can find some more work - anything available in the run up to Xmas? It's very slim pickings here this year- usually far more seasonal jobs around even this early on but wishing you all the luck in your search) xx

Just had a moment of madness and have just called my mortgage provider and overpaid the mortgage by £2,000, which has come from my savings pot.....will probably wake up tomorrow and wonder what the hell I've done, but for now, I'm feeling really pleased...my balance is now under £45k, and I've reached and surpassed my goal in the MFW 2020 challenge. Just wanted to do something to cheer myself up a little bit, and give myself something positive to end 2020 on (let's face it, there's not been many positives this year..).
Roll on 2021, cannot wait to get rid of this millstone!
Happy New Year to everyone, may 2021 be better for us all!
Much love,
CS xx

Hi all.
Not much to report, still only working part time, but am doing as many extra shifts as I can to help pay the bills.
I've only been able to overpay £40 for the last couple of months but my fixed rate is coming to an end in April, so I have sorted a new deal which will be 1.59%, fixed until June 2023. Because my monthly payment will now be slightly less, I've increased my regular overpayment amount to £50. Not much, but better than nothing for now.
Am planning to get an extra job once I've had my first vaccine jab, whenever that will be, so hopefully I can increase my overpayment amount once that happens 😊

Bit of an update…managed to increase the overpayment amount to £60 in June and July (whoop! 😒)…and have also managed to get a full time temping job which I started a few weeks ago…it’s only until September (which is fine by me as I’m not enjoying it a great deal), so have increased the overpayment amount to £300 for the time being 😊Mortgage at Jan 2009 (when house was purchased): £75,000. Fab - that'll make a massive difference to achieving your target for this year - makes doing something you don't enjoy bearable xxI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £202

End of year update:
Turns out I ended up quite liking my temping job, and they think I’m pretty good at it too, so they’ve taken me on permanently. I’ve still got my other part time role too but am doing less hours at that job now. Doing both jobs still doesn’t make for a huge combined salary, but I know I’m lucky to have 2 jobs that I like doing and (most of the time) enjoy. This all means that I’ve been able to carry on overpaying £300 each month and will continue to do so for the foreseeable. Even managed an extra overpayment of £400 from savings, which was a great feeling!
Might need to purchase a new car next year, as mine only just scraped through its MOT this year, and is quite old now, but will panic about that as and when…Would have been able to overpay more, but we had some unexpected house renovations to do, and some large vet bills to pay which were more important than putting more money towards over paying.Onwards and upwards into 2022…feeling very motivated at the moment, and am hoping it continues long into the new year! 😊
