All in all it's been pretty painful and am thoroughly annoyed today, when I should be happy because I've been able to overpay some money towards getting rid of this blooming albatross around my neck....
Yup, sooner you get rid of the flipping thing the better. That'll teach them :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • I've set up an overpayment amount of £300 to be applied on the same day as my mortgage payment comes out....therefore £300 overpayment made when my mortgage was taken out last week, so the total that I now owe is under £54k....slowly chipping away at it....I will get there eventually....

There's a chance that I may have to amend this overpayment amount to be slightly less for the next few months....will wait and see what pans out, but it's looking more likely that is what I will have to do....very annoyed and upset about it and for the reasons why I'm having to do that, but any overpayment is better than no overpayment I guess...

Mortgage payment day was yesterday, so therefore another overpayment of £300 was made. Mortgage balance is now at £53,179.

This may be the last overpayment of £300 to be made for a while...I've had an absolutely heartbreaking and rubbish few weeks in my personal life. I don't feel able to go into detail at the minute, but there's been many tears cried, and many more to be shed I'm absolutely sure of it, but one things for sure, I will rise up....

So, probably no more large overpayments from me for a while, but am hoping to be making small, token ones as and when I can, and hope to be back to making large overpayments soon. :(

    Back soon (hopefully),

Hey there I didn't want to read and run. I'm so sorry you're going through a tough time but it sounds as if you have the resilience and inner strength to come out the other end of whatever it is. And am sure we'll all be here as and when you need some support.

Another mortgage payment has gone out of my bank and so has another overpayment of £300. Managed to scrimp and save to get this one together, but it will definitely be the last large overpayment for a while.

Life is still carp...a close family member passed away a couple of months ago which, whilst not unexpected, has caused so much sadness and pain, and it hurts so much. I've also had to change jobs unexpectedly, to a job which pays a lot less than I was previously earning, so I'm feeling pretty annoyed and angry with life at the moment.

Will keep posting if and when I can, I'm hoping to still make overpayments, but these will probably be pretty sporadic for a while.

Hope you are all ok. Give your family members a big hug. One day you won't be able to, and it sucks :(

  • Hope you are all ok.

Mortgage payment for July has been taken out of the bank and have set up a £50 overpayment each month, so just logging in to update my signature to reflect this.

Life is still so hard, am so very sad still. Miss my mum so much :(

Am working full time and have also taken on a part time job to help ease the drop in my full time salary.

Just looking towards the future and hoping that one day it will all get better.

Bye for now until next month.

You're working really hard and still overpaying. That's impressive. I hope things get better for you.

  • Hi all

Haven't updated in ages as there's nothing much to report...still working 2 different jobs just to pay the bills and save as much as I can. Still overpaying the mortgage, but only by £50 a month but every penny off the mortgage is a penny I won't owe them again I guess.

Am pondering whether to increase my overpayment amount s...or to carry on saving as much as I can...not sure what the answer is really and keep changing my mind daily...will hopefully make my mind up soon!

Life is slowly getting better, still have good days and bad days, but I guess that's inevitable after such a loss.

Will try and update a bit more regularly, but when all I'm doing is working working working, it doesn't really make for a very interesting diary to read!

    Take care all,

    CS xx

  • Hey Crowdie

I've just read your diary as you kindly posted on mine. We do seem similar in a lot of ways (single mums, financial trials and tribulations and emotional bumps in the road) so I have subscribed and will cheer you onward on your journey!

So sorry to hear you lost your mum, I dread that day and imagine it is a very difficult thing to deal with :( From your posts I am guessing it was quite a shock too so you've done incredibly well to keep going as you have.

You're doing brilliantly - keep going and you'll get there!
