Aye, read your contract when you receive it.

Better still, read it before you sign it.

So, just that I'm clear on this...

It was definitely mis-sold, because there's an outside chance that some of the paperwork the OP should have been sent might have gone AWOL in the post, having been sent separately from the part he definitely received, and he couldn't possibly have been expected to do even the most basic research before buying something that he voluntarily bought in the belief that it would save him time and money - but which he's never used in nearly three years because he didn't put it in his car when he changed it.

You missed out that he is very savvy when agreeing to such arrangements.

It's hardly worth the time and effort to recover £30. OP should just make sure the agreement is now cancelled and not still running up a £1/month charge. Use it as a reminder to check things more carefully next time.

These responses are not in the spirit of the Martin Lewis ethos of helping fellow consumers, highlighting pitfalls and spreading good news and sharing information on savings.
If you cant respond constructively then go and ambush someone else's post.

The only "pitfall" that needs highlighting is that you should always understand what you're buying, and not try to pass the buck if you don't bother reading the most basic information. This is not rocket science.

Or you could simply hold your hands up and accept you didn't avail yourself to all the information that was available when you purchased your tag.

I will admit that I haven't been posting on here since the website was set up but since I have been a member, I don't recall Martin Lewis ever telling people that they must only post replies that back up what OP's think.
Pointing out mistakes that people have made can often be of more use to others than simply nodding in agreement to make someone feel good inside.

You had the answer you needed in post #12:

So as a very savvy individual he'll have kept a copy of the agreement he signed, send that to Midland Expressway Limited showing that there is no mention of a lease fee and he should get his 30 quid refunded.
Let us know how you get on.

    Is that a joke?
Pointing out other people's mistakes has no benefit whatsoever except to make the person who is doing the pointing feel better about themselves.

People who feel the need to point out other people's mistakes without anything constructive to say (90% of the posts on this thread) should just shut up and keep out of it.
