Don't let me sway you! I'm absolutely pants at this and you're brilliant.
I think it's just incredibly tough debt paying with kids. I also feel a mug as I thought things were harder when they were really small but I'm finding work tougher to sort now oldest is at school. Getting fixed hours in school time - not even thinking about term time is such a pain in the bum! And the money i earn is even less! We've done it now. And before we know it they'll be old enough to do after school clubs. My youngest has started doing one morning a week at preschool in readiness for 4 days a week in September. Bring on the free hours!!! But then I need to do 16 hours in school time. 4 days of 4 hours!? Grr
Keep going jwil you're an inspiration xxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

I don't think I am!
Don't tell me it gets harderI thought it would be easier when they get older! I agree it's practically impossible to get school hours/term time. I'm just sucking up the fact that we will always have to use after school club and holiday clubs. At the moment we are managing without breakfast club. Whatever it is, it's going to be cheaper than the current nursery bill

Well I think (touch wood) I am finally clear of the lurgy! Wow, that's taken a long time - almost 4 weeks I think  I finally feel better. Now I must get back to it.
I'm off the next two weeks on unpaid leave so I'm going to be down 4 days pay in this month and next month's wages - I really need to replace it or at least minimise the damage! I have some stuff prepped to put on eBay so must get it on, but they are speculative listings and I'm not convinced they will sell, certainly not straight away, so may not help with the cash raising."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Glad you got rid of the lurgy. It took me quite a while to feel properly better too.
The SOA is very tight but at least it justifies the decision to go on a DMP; and proves you aren't being needlessly stingy in your payments. Obviously the nursery bill is the crippling one. Out of interest, do you use vouchers via your work and if so have you checked if you'd be better off under the new system?0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37

I used to get vouchers and then it worked out I'd get more through tax credits so stopped the vouchers. I'll wait and find out whether we are still eligible for tax credits this year and review the different options then. Only 9 months or so until the free hours kick in so it should ease off then. You've certainly cracked through your list that's very impressive xx
Thanks abba, I'll have to make a new list now"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
