You tell them what you want them to hear, and show them what you want them to see.
If they ask for something you do not want them to know, just say no, its that simple.
Thank you! So I don't have to supply them with copies of bank statements? They've asked me to send my last 2 bank statements and payslips. Don't mind the payslips but not so keen on the bank statements because of the extra tax credits!0 -

Just don`t send them, if they ask again, just say they have sufficient data on your income for their purposes, just say no.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I'm definitely with Jan15 and Sourcrates on this one. The extra income and tax credits are given for a reason and not to be shared out to creditors. Do as Jan suggests and save any extra, if you can, as and when.
If it helps, when we entered into a joint DMP they asked about any savings accounts and I was in a works saving scheme which was due to mature shortly after the DMP would start. They initially said that I should use that money to offset some of our debt and I flatly refused - because I'd been saving all those years so that I gift the money to my children. I felt more so inclined knowing how tough the following years might be and that I wouldn't be able to help them out financially, or spend much on birthdays, Christmas etc.
If you read any of my back posts you'll see I always advise people not to make their budget too strict and live a little. This is a journey, not a race - and I only wish I'd taken my own advice years ago.
As to the bank statements, take Sourcrates advice -but if they push on it then you could send the bank statements but blackout the entries you don't want them to see. If you do that and they ask why, just say it relates to personal entries and not for public consumption.0 -

Thank you, that's really helpful, I am so glad that I came here and asked. I was horrified when I googled it last night and realised that they would count the DLA as income!0 -

I have to admit I'm surprised that SC are asking for wage slips and bank statements at the annual review point. I did four annual reviews online and never had to provide any documents other than at the start of the DMP. Anyways, hopefully you'll sail through without any problems - but if not, then maybe you should consider going self-managed. As you say you've been in a DMP for years, so you've got the measure of it and going SM is much easier than some folks think. Just a thought0 -

I agree with all you've said, Suseka:T. I was never asked for documentary proof by SC at review stage either:j but the poster mentions being with Payplan so maybe they do things differently:think:0 -
Had 2 replies from initial letters to my 5 creditors:
Barclaycard - very nice/sympathetic message freezing account for 30 days.
Shawbrook Loan - 25 minute phone call with a complete and utter dragon who told me that my creditors will be coming after my house. I'm pretty sure that won't be happening so I kept nice and calm and didn't argue with her. It's not her money and she was just doing her job - maybe she's on commission for bad debt collection....August 2018: Secured Debt £70,003 Unsecured Debt (DMP) £34,657 Total £104,660 DFD: March 2031
January 2019: Secured Debt £68,269 Unsecured Debt (DMP) £34,457 Total £102,726 DFD: March 20310 -
