But I have posted about my DMP? I don't know how to start a new thread :( I only wanted help and advice, I'm sorry to have posted here :(

Rebecca you are fine posting any questions you have about the dmp process here. I think the suggestion was if you wanted further advice to reduce outgoings etc you would be better starting a new thread on the debt free wannabe board.

hi ive changed username as set it up on my phone and that log in doesn't work on laptop.(was silver1982)

having read the entire thread as im sure lots of us have im really thinking self managed is the best way for me. but was wondering will i get away with not showing my payslips to creditors.

    number of reasons for this
i have fuel taken out before it hits my bank (so i can use in i and e to have some spare)
i also save shares in my wages that in the future could be used for f and f
plus i dont want them to see my year to date figures as it show show much commission i earn. commision is all over the place but i want to set my budget based on a bad month so that the good months let me breath plus afford an occasional caravan holiday :).

final thing is i want to keep my joint account running so am going to have to leave my 4k od out the plan. (want to keep my wifes credit in tact as in a couple of years maybe she could get a loan my f and f) i do have funds to pay off in one go but thinking keep that spare for f and f / emergencys

any advice for someone going straight to self managed? should i start by offering very small payments ?

the payslip thing is my main concern. could i get away with just showing bank statement from a bad month(ie wait for a bad month till i start it)

    Hi,
I have never sent payslips to creditors. If you do your self managed dmp through nedcab and complete the I&e that should be more than enough.
Do be aware that any joint accounts you have will show as financially associated so could still have an effect on your wife and that includes joint mortgage etc. No idea of the implication of this as my OH hasn't applied for anything since I started my dmp.

    You have, which is fine!

However we can help you better if you take a look at the stickies on this board, post up an SOA and then it's easier to reply with specifics.

This thread is a great support tool but usually for the mechanics of a DMP rather than general DFW advice.

Don't apologise though. I get the feeling you think you're a bother and people are mad at you. That's not the case but we want to provide help in the best way and laying everything out in your own thread would be a great start :)

In debt and looking for help? Look here for the MSE Debt Help Guide.
Also, If you need any free and impartial debt advice, the National Debtline, Stepchange, and the CAB can help.
  • I'm using my phone as I don't have a laptop so maybe it looks different? I can't see a big blue button that says new thread. It's just making me panic more. Thank you though.
I also don't understand some of the terminology like stickies and DFW etc. I really appreciate the advice and thank you
  • Hi again all- I think I've got the hang of it all now will keep to topic from now on. Thanks for help and advice and I am sorry if I haven't kept the thread as it should be. The new thread button is pink for me so I was just looking for blue and being stupidly confused. When I am panicking I can't see straight I'm afraid. Thanks again all x

does anyone have a partner who is ,financially associated to them but can still get credit even tho you are in a dmp?
  • Sorry I know I have I started that one ages ago when I began my DMP and I forgot about it or how to start a new thread. I'm just so tired an exhausted and confused and I know I now look like a huge doofus, but, this whole DMP thing is stressful and confusing. I know you say not to make it more difficult than it needs to be but I guess we all deal in different ways. I'm kinda getting the hang of the forum now I think. Thank you
