Also thank you for your advice I currently have a glass of wine. Still can't stop worrying though aha x Thank you so so much to everyone I would be even more lost without this thread x

Hi, yes have a glass of wine and enjoy it, you need to relax.
So you told a little fib, I think many, if not most, experienced DMPers on here will have told at least one embellishment to a story for creditors. No one has ever asked me for proof, so I think you are slightly unlucky there, but I'd just ignore it to be honest or if they ask and you can't get out of the call maybe say you sent the prof, didn't they receive it? Although I think fibbing may not be your most comortable option. Or if you really wanted to appease them find an old vets bill and adapt the date but I think that's going a bit far truly.

So ignore them, and then what...as Sourcrates says they'll either wear it or pass the debt on, and so what.......?

If you have had to resign payments a lot, in your short (3month?) DMP, then I think your budget may need adjusting. You'd be within your rights to say, I'm stopping the DMP until I've sorted out how to manage the payments and then maybe go self managed. Meantime you could get your defaults.

If that's not for you right now, ignore the proof of vets bill request and carry on with SC til things settle again. And don't worry, smile and think I won't do that again, but don't beat yourself up.

Please try not to stress as much as you are, there's really little they can do. Even if you had an unexpected vets bill, why an earth should you have to prove it to them. There is absolutely no way I would ever send in proof of a bill. That's a step to far in my opinion.
Creation asked us to send in bank statements and payslips, we said no, and wto of the debts have been passed on. And we are in no trouble!!

NRAM - I've asked about NRAM in the past (sorry) but I have another question/query/adivce!
We recently made a full and final offer on our NRAM loan which they have turned down, we increased it slightly and they have turned it down again. Yesterday on the phone they gave no real reason, and although the letter said call to discuss your options, we were told it was either carry on as we are or pay the full amount (not really options!)
When questioned the guy on the phone said part of the reason it was turned down was because we left stepchange, I thought I had read on here that we shouldn't be treated differently if we are self managing. Is there any legislation I can quote to them in a letter regarding this?
(They guy on the phone also didn't know what a default was??)

Also they are refusing to default, as it's not their policy.
We have put in a complaint about this, as without the default they are hindering our chances of ever remortgaging elsewhere.

    Hi Harry,

Who did Creation pass you debts on to in the end?

    Thanks,

  • keez - well they have only passed on one to Moorcroft, which are only managing it I believe. They other....who knows. Heard nothing about it in weeks. The only contact we have made with Moorcroft is a CCA request!
  • Thank you to everyone again. I don't know, I think it's because I've been bad at budgeting, I earn 1,280 and my rent/ food is 460, the DMP payment is 466, my phone bill is 40.99 which I know is high and in need to get lowered, bus travel for work is 66.00. So I should be able to save the extra but it is so hard and is so slow going. Please nobody judge me too harsh, I know I need it but I just feel so useless at the moment and like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. I owe just under 25,000. Wish I didn't touch everyday loans, they shouldn't have let me have anything as they knew I already had a lot of cards etc. My fault still but I wish they hadn't let me. I borrowed 5,500 and I owe them 13,000 because of their insane interest. I have been so bad at budgeting in the past and I wasted so much money comfort shopping to deal with my family problems including my mums mental health and her being sectioned. I am 28 by the way. What a failure I am. I am worried my boyfriend will find out and leave me. We are moving house soon and I'm worried I will fail and credit checks for us to get a house. !!!!!! have I done. I could lose my soul mate over stupid money problems. Trouble is I should have said in the beginning but how do you say it? And then there never seems to be a right time. Was feeling positive the first two DMP payments but I no longer am. Just feel like I want to be swallowed by the ground. Bleh. Sorry for the mopey storey just had to get it off my chest. Thank you everyone for the advice.

First, you're not a failure. Not only will self flagellation make you feel like rubbish, it also wont help!

It's money, who the hell cares? You're 28, you're on the way to becoming a family unit of your own and should be happy with every day, not worrying about stuff that frankly is numbers on a spreadsheet.

    Talking of which:

Get your own thread started, post up an SOA and get a spending diary started. Once you've actually taken stock of how you spend, it becomes much easier to tackle where and why you're losing money you shouldn't be.

Also, speak to your partner, seriously. Not only will they likely be far more understanding, and be willing to help (That's what a partnership is there for!) but the longer you hide this, the worse the day of "reckoning" will be. Get everything in the open and clear and deal with it.

I would wait until you've got a plan of action though, so get posting and people here can help. trust me, we don't judge! Good luck!

Yes good point, this thread is for all things DMP, please post any SOA's in your own new thread, not this one.

    Thanks.

hi ive changed username as set it up on my phone and that log in doesn't work on laptop.(was silver1982)

having read the entire thread as im sure lots of us have im really thinking self managed is the best way for me. but was wondering will i get away with not showing my payslips to creditors.

    number of reasons for this
i have fuel taken out before it hits my bank (so i can use in i and e to have some spare)
i also save shares in my wages that in the future could be used for f and f
plus i dont want them to see my year to date figures as it show show much commission i earn. commision is all over the place but i want to set my budget based on a bad month so that the good months let me breath plus afford an occasional caravan holiday :).

final thing is i want to keep my joint account running so am going to have to leave my 4k od out the plan. (want to keep my wifes credit in tact as in a couple of years maybe she could get a loan my f and f) i do have funds to pay off in one go but thinking keep that spare for f and f / emergencys

any advice for someone going straight to self managed? should i start by offering very small payments ?

the payslip thing is my main concern. could i get away with just showing bank statement from a bad month(ie wait for a bad month till i start it)
