Harlington Law, the firm of solicitors being named by the claims chasers operate from Luton and yet the claims chasers operate from an apartment in Manchester which is odd to say the least.

Despite its name, Harlington Law appears to be one man, Mr Khan who qualified in 2012 and appears to be a sole practitioner, despite their website suggesting there is a team to help. Worse, he was the sole director of another company struck off in 2015 for failing to file accounts and Harlington Law Ltd itself was only formed last year, despite the website talking of 20 years experience. You choose to deal with whoever you like if you have a real claim....

Fairly normal behaviour - it used to be the case (not sure if it still is) that solicitors were banned from cold calling under their code of conduct. So you tend to end up with some claims farm that finds the leads and then sells them on to some willing law firm who pays the cost to the claims farm out of what it makes on processing the claim. That way the solicitor gets round the code of conduct issue and the claims farmers get a willing stooge to handle their claims for them. Its a symbiotic relationship of pond life!

    Hi.

I've been approached by a company called Hadcroft Gillin Ltd. who have advised that they work in conjunction with Thomas Cook and other Travel Agents. They have advised me that 98% of hotels fail hygiene checks, and that the hotel we went to last year is one of the ones that failed.
As we were all inclusive, they have said that they can claim compensation on our behalf via Solicitors Harlington Law. They have said that we should get a minimum of £1500 each.
This would be great as me and my partner are currently saving to get on the property ladder and every little helps, however as per the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

So a few things that have set my alarm bells ringing:
    1. They asked for our National Insurance Numbers (they reasoned that ATOL only protects UK citizens and they require this to check).
    2. The company has only been registered as a company since 16/02/2017.
    3. They don't have a website, and I can't find any kind of reviews, complaints etc. online.
    4. They contacted me advising they worked with Thomas Cook, yet didn't know when the all inclusive holiday we went on was - shouldn't they know?

Basically I'm looking for advice, because as much as I want this to be real, I have a feeling it's not. However I also don't want to turn down free money (if there is such a thing!)

    Can anyone provide insight?

    Thanks, Issy

Well basic common sense should tell you that 1000's of people must have holidayed at one of these ''poor hygeine '' hotels , so where on earth do you think they would get the money to pay a minimum of £1500 to everyone who has stayed there..............

Actually I think that everyone who comes on here asking if they should go for it , should be actively encouraged to do so, just for my entertainment really

    I think it's more than a suggestion.
    From the website:
Harlington Law are a group of experienced legal professionals with diverse and extensive expertise.
    http://www.harlingtonlaw.com/

This link clearly shows Harlington Law is a one-man band.

    http://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk/office/590556/harlington-law

The SRA ID on both sites is the same (622646) as is the address and telephone number.

Is there anywhere this can be reported to?

    The Law Society.
Is it something that should be reported, do you think?

I really dislike these scum-bag, ambulance chasing low-lives - who are sadly fed by people who wants money for 'nothing'.

There will soon be a company that will offer compensation to people who have been ripped off by companies who offer to help you get compensation for things that never actually happened.

The Law Society will acknowledge the complaint but how far they take it is another matter. It may also be of interest to know that one of the two wonderful testimonials, the one that says "Harlington Law is the most valuable law firm we have ever dealt with" is run by two people by the name of Khan... but they might not be relatives of the other Mr Khan!
