HELP! Genuine or Fraudulent Compensation Claim?!

Hi.
I've been approached by a company called Hadcroft Gillin Ltd. who have advised that they work in conjunction with Thomas Cook and other Travel Agents. They have advised me that 98% of hotels fail hygiene checks, and that the hotel we went to last year is one of the ones that failed.
As we were all inclusive, they have said that they can claim compensation on our behalf via Solicitors Harlington Law. They have said that we should get a minimum of £1500 each.
This would be great as me and my partner are currently saving to get on the property ladder and every little helps, however as per the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
So a few things that have set my alarm bells ringing:
1. They asked for our National Insurance Numbers (they reasoned that ATOL only protects UK citizens and they require this to check).
2. The company has only been registered as a company since 16/02/2017.
3. They don't have a website, and I can't find any kind of reviews, complaints etc. online.
4. They contacted me advising they worked with Thomas Cook, yet didn't know when the all inclusive holiday we went on was - shouldn't they know?
Basically I'm looking for advice, because as much as I want this to be real, I have a feeling it's not. However I also don't want to turn down free money (if there is such a thing!)
Can anyone provide insight?
Thanks, Issy

Were you even ill on holiday? If not what do you think these ambulance chasers will be able to get you compensation for?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
-
Nope, apparently because the hotel failed a hygiene check all they needed to know was that we were all inclusive...0
-
Yeah...it's a scam.
If you sign up they will probably ask for some sort of 'admin fee'.0 -
Did you feel there was anything wrong with the hotel? Do you want the staff who served you there to pay, and perhaps lose their jobs?0
-
Why do you need help? If there was something wrong with your hotel I'm sure you'd have contacted the tour operator or their rep at the time, and certainly since you came home. If you had no need to then why on earth would you even think about trying to scam a tour operator or hotelier out of money?
They're talking bollox anyway.
What on earth has Atol got to do with it??? and no, you can't claim compensation because a hotel supposedly failed a 'hygiene' check.
Hadcroft Gillin have only been trading for one month. It looks like a 'company' started by a couple of ladies. Their 'office' is in Manchester. Just another quick set up company who's trying to make a quick buck before the loophole about fraudulent sick claims is closed.
I'd love to know where these shonky companies get peoples contact details from, or do they just dial numbers at random? I've had a few calls from different companies but I've not booked a package holiday for years!0 -
there are a load of these ambulance chasing companies about
similar to the "accident in the last 2 years..." they will contact 1,000s of people in the hope of finding someone that may actually qualify (was ill and has evidence that it was attributed to poor hygiene/food poisoning confirmed by doctor/specialist) so they can take a cut of the claim
No compensation for just happening to have booked an all inclusive holiday and not been ill...the world would have gone mad if that was the case..0 -
What makes people even half-believe this rubbish? Is it sheer greed or something else? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

Then you'll be aiding and abetting an ambulance chasing company.
And it's possible that you'll come back on here sometime in the future complaining about the increase in holiday prices.
Jeez! What is it about people who want compensation for nothing?0 -
Hotel standards vary across the world, as does hygiene, it's not the same as it is in the UK (amazes me when people complain that there's ants in their 4* room/crack in the mirror. 4* abroad is 3* here). This company does sound dodgy, to get compensation you need to have lost something, you can't just complain that the food hygiene standards are not the same as they are in the UK and expect a cash payout.0

Definitely nothing to do with Thomas cook or any other tour op, its a complete scam like were you injured in a car accident, have you had ppi etc. I actually had 1 chap tell me what to say about my ppi from the tsb loan i'd never had.0
