The big question is, is it the schools land?
the secondary issue is can you get some sort of confirmation that you have permission to park there?
If it is the Schools land then things can be moved forward a little.
Schools/colleges/university's and Hospitals like to think they are a law unto themselves and often like to think they can penalise/fine people for what they see as traffic offences, ive even heard of schools trying to fine parents for dropping of children outside the school in a free short stay council parking area near byFrom the Plain Language Commission:

My wife and her mum did have a meeting with the headteacher some time back and the results seemed to be a bit vague. AFAIK the land is leased by the school from the landowner. If I have things right so far, I think the key element is to establish who the PPC has the contract with, then get in touch with them directly. My mother in law has got a disabled bay right next to the spot in question, but it's typically got her car in itIs that magnificence I smell?

They seem to look after the whole strip of land that goes from my mother in law's boundary fence all the way down the road until it narrows and the pavement takes over. I don't know if they look after the school's car park itselfIs that magnificence I smell?

The only thing parking firms ''look after'' is their own interests and greed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OK, if you'd used it for 20 years you could have claimed that you had acquired the right. I'm not sure you want to go there though, it changes the whole nature of the case and you'd have had to seek legal advice i think (and the right would be asserted against the school as opposed to the PPC).Although a practising Solicitor, my posts here are NOT legal advice, but are personal opinion based on limited facts provided anonymously by forum users. I've asked wifey and MIL to see if they can talk to the school to establish who the PPC might have the contract with so we can present a case for medical need to park occasionally for short periods.
While that's ongoing though, I'm concerned there might be a ticking clock on the letter from UK CPM that i need to respond to. I won't be dealing with IAS as it appears to be a complete waste of my time but I would dearly love to stop this thing in its tracks before anyone starts talking legal action. Any thoughts on what we should communicate to the scum?Is that magnificence I smell?

If this price of land is bordering your mother in laws property, and you are unsure of the ownership then it may be worth a land registry search.
finding out who owns it could have other benefits to your mother in law as well.
If tis some remote landowner ie a holding company who purchased the land the school/housing was built on ave they given permission for the PPc to operate there?
Would it be beneficial to rent/lease or even buy the land from the landowner if its a small piece of 'tatty' undeveloped land?
do you have a google streetview link to this land? From the Plain Language Commission:
