I had my boiler replaced by boxt Wednesday and after reading some of the views on here I was sceptical. But I!!!8217;ve got to say it I had a very good price , the process was straightforward, the two engineers were knowledgable and friendly and as for my experience with them I!!!8217;d definitely recommend them.0

I have been toying with a new boiler from BOXT for a few weeks now but have not got round to it. I looked at the reviews from TrustPilot but was a little baffled by the fact that I could not find any ratings other than 5 star and I don't really trust that. Surely there are some people out there that were a little peeved at their fitting. To me theres no such thing as a free lunch and all 5 star ratings....?
Well now I have settled down a little and thought about the remarks on here which I trust from past experience can I not afford to take them up on their deal as far as price goes. Being one of the 'aged pensioners' who save their money in the past I am going to spend some and get Boxt to come and fit a new boiler for us next week just before I'm due to go in for a hospital procedure and hope I come home to a lovely warm bungalow and a brand new boiler. Thanks for all the good advice from you all. :beer:0 -

I used Boxt yesterday for a new boiler. I have posted a lengthy review elsewhere and I don’t usually post to this however having used this forum to inform my decision I felt it was only right to contribute. All I can say is they were excellent, the fitter properly cleaned the system, he also had to unexpectedly change the gas pipe because he judged it was not delivering sufficient pressure from his readings. Transco had to come out and they had a higher reading which gave the fitter a way out which he didn’t take. That meant the job took over 12 hours. Boxt are also sending an electrician to change a plug socket which did not fit their standards. All this within the fixed price quote which was really competitive.
It seems that quite a few of the replies on here may be from people working in this area who are perhaps unhappy with the competition as opposed to Boxt customers who seem to have an overwhelmingly positive experience. I now have a really good quality, well reviewed boiler which is working brilliantly and I think I paid a fair price for it.
Finally, I definitely don’t work for Boxt, I only joined here to post this review because they were being unfairly pilloried when I think we should encourage good value service alongside good customer service whenever we can.0 -

Amazing how many new posters are using this site to praise this company, If I didn't know better I would be sceptical.1

I agree so many people praising Boxt, where these posters only have 1 post on these forums.
Anyway, I have been registered on the MSE forums for maybe 10 years now, but not a regular poster.
I have just placed an order with Boxt. They are coming on Tue 15th Jan 2019 to fit a new Worcester Bosh Greenstar 30i. The website was simple to use. The quoted price was cheaper than any of the others (boilerplan, homeserve and BG). £1900 for the combi boiler with smart themostat, system clean, filter etc, and I got £100 back via Quidco.
I selected boxt based on price and timescales. It’s easy to do than ringing round various local heating companies/ plumbers to get quotes.
Let’s see how the installation goes. I will report back.0 -
So here is my experience of Boxt.
The day of install was today. Prior to today I had an e-mail asking for some more photos. My mistake, as I had not uploaded them all to their website.
Boxt sent me an e-mail a few days before, stating the installers name, with a photo of the person.
This morning, two gents turned up at 08:30. They were from a local plumbing/heating company (about 10 miles from where I live). They were not the person indicated in the prior e-mail. The combi boiler was delivered at about 09:00 by Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS).
The guys had the new boiler installed and working by 14:30 and were gone by 15:00. No attempts at upselling anything and no talk of extra charges.
They have done a good job, were tidy, sorted out a minor electrical problem (crossed polarity) and installed a condensing pipe to the gutter. In fact everything you would expect from a local heating firm.
Boxt appears to be a one stop shop, who employ local trades to do the works. I used Boxt as the website was easy to use and it saved getting several local people in for a quote. I would use Boxt again, but not for the next 10 years, I hope.
Overall, my broken non condensing boiler was replaced with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i (Combi) for £1900, with £100 back through Quidco. Complete with a smart thermostat.
5 out of 5 from me.0 -
I've had a boiler fitted but not by Boxt. They said it was an all day job but the guy was finished by 1pm. Knowing previous installers, they do 2 installs a day. But no complaints.0

Just wanted to add my review for this company also, as i read this thread a couple of weeks back when I was googling reviews of BOXT. I admit I was hesitant as it all seemed too good to be true, but I researched for weeks before biting the bullet. My final price was £1625 with discount, which was nearly £1000 cheaper than our supposed 'mates rates'. Upon booking I was asked to send some photographs of the house/boiler/pipes etc, and was told we would only hear back if they spotted a problem. We had no further correspondence thankfully. I received a call the day before from a local builders merchant advising my boiler would arrive the next morning, which it did 0815, and then the workman arrived about 0915. He worked tirelessly all day, had to pop out mid morning to get an extra part, but all was finished by about 1630! I couldn't be happier and definitely recommend this companyNov NSD: 8/7 Dec NSD: 1/10Sealed pot member #1443 2011: £106. 2012: £171Ninjakat challenge: Aim to clear two debts by April 2013100 day challenge: No toiletries or magazines 19/100 (3 x fails
