A few houses up for sale on the same road

Thanks for all your replies - I realise it may just be a coincidence I guess I was worried more about them all coming onto the market within a couple of days - rather than still being up for sale at the same time.
Thank you for your suggestions - I will look in the local newspaper, and also look up planning permission and see if there is anything there. If we get any further I can speak to neighbours too.
Thank you!0 -
Are they relatively new ? This happened to a block of flats near me, they were all bought at the same time when released and about 5 years later a lot of them went up for sale. Presumably the buyers had outgrown them, reached the next stage in their lives, were fulfilling their 5-year plan etc.
At the other end of the scale, houses in my Road were built in the 1960's and were bought originally as family houses. Now several of the families have grown, moved on to their own family homes. mums and Dads have long retired and deciding to sell-up and downsize.0 -
Our next door neighbours-but-one are about to sell, and we're currently selling. Already getting paranoid that the viewers will be getting paranoid lol. (The bungalow next door-but-one to them the other side still has a sold sign outside too!)
Oh well, I hope they ask/look into it and don't just not buy out of worry!

They're not new at all no. It's a relatively long road yes, about 80-100 houses so I guess it's not that odd thinking about ratio's! Just found it surprising about how they came up in such a short space of time - if there was a week or 2 between each one I think I'd find that less odd... anyway we may not even like it

Thing is it's a highly competitive area at the moment with houses like this going in the space of days; I'm not sure the price will drop but didn't think about BTL. I was more thinking what do they know about their road that I don't that's causing them all to want to sell!!
Bear in mind that "CrashyTime" has been registered on this forum for getting on for three years now under the name "CrashyTime", and has been predicting an imminent crash for that length of time at least.
Anyone who listened to their advice when they first joined would still be sitting and waiting for the crash, having watched prices rise steadily.
That's not to say a crash won't happen tomorrow. Just to give you an idea of the reliability of that source.0 -
I bet they are about to turn one of the houses on the road into a doss house for ne'er do wells. People are getting out before its too late.0

So we saw the house on Saturday and really liked it. Mentioned to the EA that we noticed a few of them came up on the road within 2 days of each other, she just brushed it off as a "oh it's a popular area"...
I've looked on the council's website and can see no planning applications for the road, nor for the field the back garden backs onto.
We also noticed when driving up the road that all the other houses on the market are on the opposite side of the road to this one - not sure if that's useful or not!
Anyway we'll put an offer in and see if it even gets accepted!!0 -
And just as I sent that, got a RightMove notification with another one opposite this one!!0

Not with at least 5 households apparently :rotfl:You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0 -
I would view them all and not just the one that looks good on paper."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0
