Sorry ment to ask do you always have to go for a face to face assessment thanks0
-
Not always, but you should expect one.
A well completed form and good, relevant evidence will give you the best chance of skipping a f2f.

As above... for a new claim more likely than not you would be asked to attend one... but the best you can do to try to avoid one is provide a well completed How Your Disability Affects You form and accompany it with professional evidence (the more relevant to the descriptors that form the criteria for assessing entitlement the better.. the more recent the better) that details your disabilities.Sorry ment to ask do you always have to go for a face to face assessment thanks"Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -

Hi
I have filled out the form and have now posted it so thanks for all the advice. I have noticed on websites that to have DLA you need to have a carer is this correct or do people who live on their own still qualify?
Thanks0 -
No, people on their own qualify. Where did you read that? It's completely wrong.
You need to have care needs, but that's not the same as having a carer, and neither are the same as having a live in carer. The whole point of DLA is that it lets you pay for the care you need in the way that's best for you.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Nah... not for DLA or PIP which is replacing it. I would say though that when you describe your disabilities and difficulties if you do have a carer then it may be naturally easier to explain some of them.Hi

I don't have a carer that's why I was confused if I would be considered for DLA0
