    Mortgage-free Glee!
Not so positive news today. Mr SMF2 has been told that his company is having a pay freeze (not entirely unexpected :D). However, he is still hoping for a small bonus. On the positive side he gets to keep his job :T..... for now :o

    Regards

As you say Mr SMF2 still has a job so this is something to be cheerful about.

Decided in the end to leave half my pension pot in bonds. Its in the following:-

    Fixed Investment Fund
This fund invests primarily in British Govenment gilt-edged stocks and other fixed interest securities. These provide a reliable income and can also offer potential for capital growth. The fund managers pursue an active policy of switching between stocks to maximise growth. RISK BAND - Low

It's up at the moment 40px-Roller_Coaster_Icon.svg.png

nice to know that the interest rate cuts can help so much with your op's....i am doing the same thing...keeping my payments the same so that they reduce the capital :D

seriously impressed with the energy usage....don't know many (any actually!!) who could say that their bills have gone down!!

    keep it up....:A
  • Just wanted to say ditto to the above :T and as for the energy usage - I'm absolutely in awe of what everyone has achieved on your energy thread :T:T:T

    Hi :hello:

Well we've had a good month. Mr SMF2 has had his pay froozen but his company still gave him an £11500(after tax) bonus:j.

Our Scottish Bond which we have be saving into for 10 years (don't ask: seemed like a good idea at the time) matured which has given us another £3.2K. :j

What all this means is that we have the money to top up our cash ISAs in the next tax year which we're are pleased about. Maybe there will be something left over for an extra op but we haven't discussed summer holidays yet, so not sure.

I was very naughty with clothes for myself this month.

This is my annual spend for clothes (for me) since I started my spending diary in 2003

    year to April 2004 - £696
    year to 2005 - £746
    year to 2006 - £259
    year to 2007 - £51
    year to 2008 - £288
    year to 2009 - £84

Anyhoo, I was feeling very tatty the other day and took myself to the shops. A couple of hours later I'd bought the following:-

2 pairs of Next Jeans £40
1 Pair of next shoes £32
    2 M & S Shirts £50
2 thin polo neck Jumpers £25
    One Per Una coat £58
    Per Una PJs * 2 £44

    Total Spend £250:eek:

On the plus side I don't feel scruffy now and I really like what I've bought, so no regrets:D

    Kind Regards

    SMF2

EDIT I have updated page 1

Well done SMF, great news about bonus and bond. It doesn't look likely that dh will get a bonus this year as he would have had a letter by now, but at least he's still got a job.

Enjoy your new clothes, I'm saving up for a spending spree - can't wait!
