Why would you want to download the O2 settings? Post #5 said if NOT already on O2. e.g. load an alternative providers settings which won't work.

the settings reset will just restore default settings (and will not wipe user data like contacts, pictures, videos, music ect)

a master reset will wipe everything (as i found out ages ago)

The poster was suggesting downloading the setting for another network, which would prevent it connecting, as "she doesn't use the internet on her phone".
