It would matter had it been any of the other 5 major Australian cities, it is a rather large country and the climate varies hugely between them. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
I have noticed that there can be massive differences in fares dependent on which city I go to, Adelaide seems to be one of the cheapest to go to so we're quite lucky.
I had thought of doing a stopover as my mrs seems to think planes only have 6 hours of oxygen🤔
There does seem to be a good range of options for that, unfortunately, I want to go to Malaysia, Dubai, Borneo and everywhere else. Will probably be dependent on cost0 -

Malaysia is cheap to visit and Malaysian Airlines often have good fares.
Don't use them if you have a peanut allergy though.0 -
I see that you are Yorkshire based OP as we are. When we flew to NZ a couple of years ago we flew with Singapore Airlines as they went from Manchester Airport which was much handier for us as opposed to going down to London. Great airline- very impressed0

If you seriously want to visit Borneo then see if you can fly on Royal Brunei. Their hub, not surprisingly, is in Brunei, which is on the island of Borneo. The rest of Borneo is made of bits of other countries (specifically Malaysia and Indonesia) with capitals elsewhere, so a separate 'regional' flight would be required unless you get a long-haul flight to Brunei.
Sadly, it is not possible to take a taxi from Brunei to Adelaide!0
