Hi all, I'm really lucky in that the wife and I have been invited to Australia by one of her friends and all we need is to get flights over.
We're not constrained at all as this trip will be next year so my question is quite simple - when should we go to get the right combination of hot weather and cheap flights? Obviously I am aware that cheap is a relative term:D

Consider Singapore airlines and Cathay Pacific from Manchester.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Sometime in Jan-Feb.
Cathay Pacific fly there from Manchester via Hong Kong.
Qatar Airways fly there from Manchester via Doha.
They are both in the One World alliance so you could add earn air miles for a BA exec club account.
Singapore airlines fly there from Manchester via Singapore, they are in the star alliance so you could earn air miles for a Lufthansa miles and more account.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Royal Brunei - fantastic planes (Dreamliner). Travel now - I'm flying to Melbourne next week, return fare just under £600. The planes have just about the best combination of comfort (seat width & depth), inflight facilities, terrific choices of menu. Flown with RB when they first introduced the plane 3 years ago. Seating layout is 2, 3, 2 and seat choice.
Cabin staff were lovely. RB is a "dry" airline, but you are free to take your own reasonable quantity of alcohol on board to consume if you can't go 24 hours without an alcolholic drink.
Weather projected to be in the region of 25 for March/April.
If I had a travelling companion I would take the opportunity of stopping over for a day or two in Dubei, but not much fun on ones own, although a stopover might impact the cheap fare - I haven't looked into that.
Generous economy class 30kgs hold luggage allowance, cabin 7kgs, and handbag in addition.0 -

That all sounds like Business Class -- except the price!
Rather than Dubai, you might consider a stopover in Brunei itself. It is on the island of Borneo and very interesting.0 -

It might if he had actually been going to Perth.
That would be some taxi ride.0
