Taking money from debit card without permission - is this allowed?

like already mentioned they could be able to over-ride the chip and pin or signature with a supervisor code (if that is possible)
Or they could have swiped it for a signature and faked it??? I work in a supermarket and we have to get permision to swipe a card if the customer has forgot the pin (this does defete the object of chip and pin) It is they up to the bank to alow a slip to be signed instead of a pin used0 -
Usually the machines have a 'Customer Not Present' facility to use in such a situation.Gone ... or have I?0

Many bars do it. One of my old bosses used to do it, put his (company) card behind the bar and we'd just go and get what we wanted. Then he could leave and the last person would collect his card and give it back to him the next day! A lot of upmarket places do it ... our bills could easily reach £500 in a night, with the max ever reached around £1500! :eek:Gone ... or have I?0
